Title: I'm looking at my stats to see which plane I've shot down the most
Post by: Getback on April 28, 2013, 03:56:44 AM: It's the Lancaster with kills of 44. Go figure. The kills on Lancs may have gone to 50 since Hitech hasn't updated the stats yet today. I shot 3 down that I know of today. 10 were in a Werble and the rest in fighters of some sort. The next is f4U1D with 32. The latter makes sense since I've been flying the Hellcat mostly and just itching for a cv battle. Then comes B17s and finally the p51. Normally it's the p51 that leads my kill list. Well of fighters anyway. The f4U1d's have also killed me 12 times which is the most by any other plane.

I've haven't been flying high normally this camp so those rascals must be coming in low. Now I did go high in an ME163 and got a couple. Augured an me$163 today. Ugh!!

Just thought it was interesting about the Lancasters.

Post by: Ack-Ack on April 30, 2013, 07:03:25 PM: Took a look at my stats, thought that bombers would be a the top of my kill list since I spent more time this tour than normal in hunting them down. Surprised to see that the #1 plane I've shot down this tour the most has been the P-51D, shot down 47 of them this tour compared to the #2 slot, the Spitfire XVI, of which I only have 18 kills of this tour. Don't recall bagging that many P-51Ds in a single tour.

6 by ship gunner
4 by 51d
2 by la7
2 by wirbel
everything else is 1 or less

And pilots shot me down 1 or less times in 51d last tour out of 36 total deaths.

For five years in a row now my top three each year have been always Lancaster, B-17G, B24J. Only difference: B-17 and B-24 have swapped places since the introduction of the new strategic system, used to be more 24's than 17's before.

I believe the logical solution to your question is below:
Fact 1. LWMA pilots are mostly flying P-51Ds and SpitXVIs.
Interpretation 2. Most LWMA pilots flying the P-51Ds and SpitXVIs are not very good at it.
Therefore 3. LWMA pilots referenced in #2 that aren't flying P-51Ds and SpitXVIs are GVing.

Holy molars! :O That is a shiitake-load of dead bombers.

The Lanc has been #1 on my kill list for a while. Only killed 2332 so far, not 7 frikkin' thousand. Jeez. Save some for the rest of us.
