I was in elkford B.C, Visiting my mother, Its a small town, this was in the summer, ...town population was us around 4000, its a mining town..Well i was walking to the store, And i hear this Load airplane engine,..Its was not normal, So load...Only small Single engine planes fly around..So im walking down the road, near my old high school...And there i saw it, It was like 1000ft-1500ft, high.... A b-17G, i think, was flying over, I almost toejam my self, It was So Beautiful , So shiny, And silver.....I never thought id see a b-17 fly over my head, and circle, around the town...Since it was Canada, we dont have b-17s,.....so it was a rare sight.....Later that day, It landed at the Airfield, 15km down the highway, so i decided to drive their, and i saw it, ..they were giving tours, and that...The b-17 name was called Sentimental Journey,....Great name, Because that fly over, was sentimental,....IM no New comer to bombers, I work in a town Nanton, 2 hours away from elkford, at a place called NANTON bomber command Museum,...Which many people call it the Lancaster Museum,..Because we have a Lancaster...Not airworthy, its still in resstoriation stage....But i give tours, of inside, the bomber, i take them in the cockpit, and that, We also have Mossy, And other Canadian Bombers, Engines, couple jets, And were restoring a Halifax, for the future.....But i have never bin inside a American Made bomber, so when it came to the town i was in, I go the tour!...and my, You Yanks Knew how to build planes :salute

We had a B-25 flying around Cleveland for about an hour Saturday morning. Was cool to see although I have no idea why she was here.

Don't get to see many older aircraft down here in Beaumont but we do get a lot of Blackhawks, Apaches, and Chinooks because of the port down here. I live about 10 minutes from our little municipal airport and every couple of weeks it is loaded down by those.

A few years ago a b17 flew over my house. It does make a distinct sound with the four piston engines. All I have to say is it was one of the coolest things to see flying 1000-2000 feet above your head.

I used to live in rialto, ca and the local airport had 2 p38's. they would fly over my house a lot. but the bastages moved the airplanes to arizona :bhead. so I only get to see them once a year now at the chino air show.

I live relatively close to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh Wisconsin, next to the EAA museum and we have quite a few P-51's, P-47's and one B-17 that flies over every two-three weeks.
We also have Black Hawk helicopters flying over once a month while they're on training missions. My neighbor is in the guard and flies one of the Black Hawks. Last year he flew one carrying well over $1 million in drugs when there was a huge pot bust up in Marinette county.
