I remember when I was stationed at Nellis AFB, just before the F-117 became public they had a change of command ceremony.  They had one of the A-7Ds parked on 1 side of the stage and 2 MLG tires and a NLG tire with chocks holding them in place....nothing else, just chocks and tires.   Everyone on base knew that the plane existed but hardly anyone had ever seen it.

   I thought that was a funny thing to do.

They did something similar at an airshow in England once complete with a grim looking guard and a sign stating 'Deadly Force Authorised'. The pity of is that's all we see of the F117 these days. I wonder if the F118 is in development or indeed the F19...........
