:airplane: Not sure if this would be an easy thing to do, but, take the Greebo "crater" map which is now in rotation. If you could spead that map in 1 or 2 sectors in all directions, it would be a good replacement map for Trinity. Its a great map, with a lot of options, but some bases just to close together.
-
How would enlarging it by 1 sector make it like trinity?
All it does is enlarge the land mass and might make distances a bit farther

I think Greebo's Crater map is perfect as is. Good base spread allowing for great quick fights, plenty of bases on the water for CV action, 3 CVs per side, one of the best TT's. Doesn't need to be tweaked in any way. :aok

I'm not really an old hand at AH, but I agree with Latrobe, I think Greebo's map is great just the way it is. Wish we had several more like it. Thanks Greebo!!!! :salute

No such thing as 'bases too close together'

if the ack can hit you at your own base from another, that would be too close. :)

It's not the size of the map that matters rather how you use it

Wouldn't you know :devil

I have a small "map" and heck if I know what to do with it

Last night was good example of bases to close together! V-61 on the Bish side of things. 2 airbases within about 10 miles of the v base made it almost impossible to capture without a horde at both air bases while attacking the v base. Took a fair size force, about 6 B-26's, 4 hvy fighters to attack v base, was immediately attacked by not 1 but 3 262's and other assorted aircraft, so you can guess how the rest went.

i get it now, you want easy base takes...get more people to fly bish, then you can just horde your way around the map.

Bish pilots smell :old:

This is where planning makes a difference. Two heavy fighters to drop Ord at the airfield to stop the bomb yards, and to cover the resupply. A couple of b26's to drop hangers at the v v base, a t guys to run in to the v base with a couple of wirbles, a couple of M18's and a couple of m3's.
Only defense is hurris and il2s easily picked off or slowed down by cover fighters.
Adapt, don't use the same old plan every time.

:airplane: We, the Devil Dogs do what you suggest every night! I was just trying to point out a situation in reply to another post on this thread!
