Title: F4U-1D View issue
Post by: eeyore on May 19, 2013, 05:55:16 PM
Greetings and Salutations!

I was trying to adjust my views in the F4U-1D and when I look back up left I cannot adjust the view. It doesn't move at all, regardless of which direction I try to move. Have not come across this problem in any of the other F4Us.

This could be that nasty KB limitation!   It seems windows doesn't like too many key presses at the same time,so if you use 5,1 and try to page up or use the arrow keys they wont respond.

work around is to use the JS buttons for some of the keypresses, yes I know it can be difficult as I don't have 3 hands either!! another trick I've used and others also is to plug in a second KB to the comp and use both as same time. 5,1 and pageup on second KB will do the trick.  Then save with F10!

I've run into this several time in the last couple of weeks,at first thought it was a game issue then a KB issue but nope, winblows really does!!!

    :salute

  PS: hope this helps you!

If you were able to adjust the back up right view and save it. Here is how you set your left up back view directly in the hps file. Very often it will only be one view, left or right that you cannot adjust. So if you can get one of the two adjusted then here is how you mirror the saved coordinates directly in the saved HPS file using notepad.

C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\settings\planes\f4u1d.hps

That's the head position file you will edit in notepad. Below is the all of your view keys mapped to the 3 columns of coordinates. Just copy the mapped columns of numbers I've pasted below into notepad and save it as a text file. Then open both files next to each other and match the lines.

Look for the line that corresponds to NUM_Key 1+5 or up back left. It's mirror opposite is NUM_Key 3+5 or up back right. The three sets of numbers are mirrors with the left side starting with a negative number and the right side a positive number. Here are my lines from the f4u1d.hps file corresponding to up back left and up back right.

-0.608081,0.258881,1.186473 <-- up back left -- NUM_Key 1+5
0.666863,0.231939,1.186143 <--- up back right- NUM_Key 3+5

Below is the mapped hps file for you to copy and paste into notepad.

0.000000,0.000000,0.000000 NUM_Key 8

if you have a joystick with a hat switch use that in combination to "5". Although your hand had better have some length to it to save :D
