Title: Nerdgasm
Post by: Dragon Tamer on May 20, 2013, 11:54:22 PM
I was looking at some profiles for P47 skins when this one caught my eye.

I literally stared at this picture for 15 minutes in awe. I could not find one thing that took away from the beauty. Thought you guys would enjoy seeing it as well.

Too bad we do not have this model. Must be a D-23 being a razorback with the wing shackles.
Hmm... a razorback with wing shackles and a paddle blade prop... would have been my favorite Jug.

Last I checked the default D-10 by Greebo is a WZ coded bird of the 78th FG.  They didn't carry full D-Day stripes very long

There are 2 D-25s with checkered cowls of the 78th too, one OD/Gray and one NMF.

As near as I can tell you already have what you want :)

Acording to the profile site, it's actually a D-11

D-11, like ours in AH, did not have the wing hard points. Only the latest razorbacks had them and if I recall correctly it is actually the latest (D-23) that had them out of the production line. As for retrofitting such hardpoints in the field, I really don't know - they really needed the extra range from the wing DT. It has been a while since I delved into such minute Jug details so I may be wrong.

I was only quoting the site that hosted the photo. The information on there could be wrong, or the artist may have made a mistake, or it could even be a field mod like you said. I am curious now so I'm going to take a look into it. If It was a different model of the jug like you said it was, then I would definitely love to see it in game.
