Any and all info from anyone within the aviation community hopefully in the East/South Texas and South/West Louisiana
I'm exiting the Army in a few months and I'm just trying to put some feelers out as far as who knows who and what.
Thanks guys Vudu15/Roen.

You can ALWAYS find a job here at TIMCO in Greensboro, NC. All commercial though, no helicopters,

You might check out Winco www.wincoservices.com (http://www.wincoservices.com) They operate MD500s in powerline construction and maintenance.
I worked as an A&P on 500s for one of Wincos competitors, and I know that they are working a big contract out of Abeline, TX right now, will be there for a couple years at least, and Gordon is a good guy to work for I hear.

Do you actualy have your A&P certs (im surprised most actualy don't comming out of the army with a ton of experience turning wrenches on Helos, but that's another topic...)?
I know through a friend of a friend, one of those oil/drilling companies on the Texas Coast that operates a respectable sized helo fleet has its maintenance dept. run by an old-dog army 1st-sarge and he likes to staff it with ex-army helo guys and run his shop in a similar manner. He really only likes to hire by word-of-mouth and who he knows that knows you type of deal, but I can find out their name for you if you really need it.

Sounds like PHI...
I'd forgotten about them when I first posted, but both PHI and Era operate lots of aircraft in the Gulf of Mexico supporting oil rigs.

Did you check into Boeing? I know there's a Helo plant in Yardley, Pa.

Yea I'm really focused on PHI right now I like them and everyone of the folks from there are really professional. I do not have my A&P I doubt folks would stay as long if they could receive it and get out but with my time on 60s 4 years now active I can take a condensed course which is only 9 days and not 9 months for around 1500 bucks. Ive also looked at ERA and they seem pretty good. what Id like to do is use this job which is 7 on and 7 off and use the off weeks to get my Commercial Rotary wing license then turn around and fly air ambulance for the same group if they re good folks. but that's long term first thing is getting that A&P just figured I talk to the group on here see what y'all might know.
