:salute to all my brothers out there who have paid the ultimate price, as well as to everyone still serving and the future generation.

When you have lost your first born child to a worthless war..
EVERY day, is Memorial day..
Every morning I wake up, look at his picture, and say I'm sorry!

While I do not think your son would agree to you saying that what he died for is worthless, I cannot stop you from thinking that.
I am sorry for your loss and the hate you now carry in your heart. I have lost friends...very close friends, but I know that we did some good, and that they died doing what they believed in.

There is no salute big enough to be given to those we have lost. May they rest easy.

Easy on the judgement, you didn't know his son. There are lots of opinions when it comes to wars, especially the most recent ones. Everyone is entitled to their own.
However, the second part of your post I thoroughly agree with. There is no greater sacrifice. :salute

No judgement. The pain is a great burden to carry. We all mourn in our own ways. :)

Well, I went to the Memorial service at the Veterans Cemetery yesterday..
The VFW had a bugler there who played taps, with the laying of the wreath at the small monument..
It was Raining heavily, Not many people showed, maybe 20 or so..
Stopped to visit my parents and 2 brothers, all buried there.. But my son is not there, because there
wasn't enough of him to put in a coffin.. He is in a mausoleum, and will be buried with me, when I take
my place there..
All that my mind could focus on was the day he was born.. Holding him in my hands, his eyes looking
at me, with traces of his mothers blood still on his face..

I wonder how a well known Senators Memorial day visit with the FSA, "Bin Laden Brigade" went???

My family knows to leave me alone on Memorial Day. I let them go do their cookout thing. I have my own "rituals" I do that day. Lots of buddies to remember.
Home of the free because of the brave. :salute
