Title: Proper use of the current ground vehicle shifting system when climbing a hill.
Post by: Citabria on May 28, 2013, 07:36:34 AM
I see this so often it is rediculous.

everyone complains about the gear hunting autotransmission up a hill.

IF YOU ARE CLIMBING A HILL...

HIT W key UNTIL YOU ARE 1mph below the auto shift speed!

that is all you have to do.

it is that simple.

you can do this.

it is not hard.

your tank will never gear hunt again.

W key is your friend.

S key is too if you need to slow a mph or two.

SHIFT W AND SHIFT S BAD ON HILLS BAD! DONT BE BAD!

you are not a bad. do not be a bad.

only bads whine about the tank shifting.

I'm not much of a GV'r so pardon my ignorance...how does one determine auto shift speed?

there are two ways...

use w key until you downshift then hit S key to stay amph below the speed it upshifts.

or use shift w and watch at what speed the transmission bogs down and downshifts and then hit w and s key to set the speed a mph below the speed it shifts at.

Still not liking letting go of the W key 1mph below shift point and having the gv slow down 6mph before coming back up to the set speed.
