Instead of separate threads for all 10 (that's right, I said TEN) Emils that I'm skinning. I'll be posting all material here.
First up, a 109E-3 from 9./Jg 26 flown by Willi Fronhofer. I still need to make a bump and specular map. I also need to weather the paint some more.

109E-4 of I/Jg 3 flown by Gruppenkommandeur, Gunther Lutzow. This skin represents the way the plane appeared in July 1940. There are 7 victory marks on the rudder; his score would be 18 by September, when he was promoted to Geschwader Kommodore.
Lutzow was a vocal critic of both Herman Goering and the SS, and as such, Lutzow was "promoted" to the position of "Inspector of Day Fighters, Eastern Front" in August 1942 and later the same position on the Italian Front.
Lutzow was a key participant in an effort to sack Goering in late 1944. The so called "Fighter Pilots' Mutiny" was unsuccessful and Goering threatened to have Lutzow shot for "high treason," instead he was exiled to a desk job in Italy.
Lutzow's friend, and fellow mutineer, Johannes Steinhoff, recruited Lutzow into Gen. Adolf Galland's JV 44. This Me 262 squadron hand picked it's pilots from those not currently posted in other squadrons, in flying roles. Soon, the JV 44 roster contained a number of great pilots and the squadron was given a number of unofficial nicknames, such as: "Squadron of Experts" and "Galland's Circus." Lutzow claimed 2 kills in the Me 262, bringing his total to 110. Unfortunately, on April 24, 1945, Lutzow failed to return from an interception of B-26's. His aircraft or body were never found.

Nice skin Devil and an unusual scheme for a 109. IIRC Galland tried a scheme like that in the Battle of France and almost got shot down by a 109 that thought he was a Hurricane.
-
Not Yellow-y enough for me, but dang that looks nice! :O
-
Beautiful skins as always Devil! :aok

Thanks guys.
Latrobe. Hey, it's got a half yellow nose. :P
Revo. I have a Jg53 Emil nearly done. But it has the Ace of Spades emblem and not the red stripe. In my opinion, not having the Ace of Spades on an Jg53 109 is like not having "Ace of Spades" on a "Best of Motorhead" album. :devil

....Fair enough. :lol

Some good looking skins you got there, Devil! :rock

excellent stuff man. :aok

Great stuff devil :aok

So they were still flying E7s in 42??

So they were still flying E7s in 42??
Yes. Jg5 was mostly or all Emils through most of '42. Until mid '43 Jg5 received mostly "hand-me-down" airframes.
-
Keeping them coming. Latrobe ought to love this one.

I cranked up the weathering to match this great photo.

Very pretty looking! All yellow noses are acceptable! I'm a bit more fond of the green or grey color with the yellow nose since it stands out more, but I wouldn't mind flying this skin in game! :x :aok

Real nice work devil :aok

Devil where did you come from with all of these skins? Also I approve of all of them.

Thanks guys.

Well I also build plastic models, so I also frequent forums where there is a treasure trove of reference material on Luftwaffe subjects.

Moving right along, I present an Emil from III/Jg 77.

Thank you very much.
