The P38L and some P47s have Dive Flaps but no sound is associated with their actuation. If practical, and not a bunch of work, it sure would be nice to have.

+1 for the activation sound
been a long time since i used dive brakes but, i could have sworn there was a felt affect when they are deployed...something to do with the way the plane handles. it's nothing really significant but there is an effect.

The dive flaps do have an effect on the P-38L when the dive flaps are deployed.

Question is, would the hydraulics from the dive flaps even be audible while in flight?

Very doubtful.
In the B-24 you don't hear anything. You will hear the electric hydraulic pump when it is switched on (used when cycling the gear or to keep pressure up when using brakes on ground). Otherwise flaps, gear and bombbay doors you don't hear operating. With the gear you can feel them as they cycle --- some vibration when they drop into the slipstream and thumps at end of cycle.
On the B-17 you can hear the electric hydraulic pump (it's in the cockpit behind the copilot) and you might hear the bomb bay doors operate.

It sounds electric.
