Yes! +999999999999!

YES
I was just going to make a request for the Hell diver.
Might as well update the SBD while we are at it.
+1 :aok :rock

+1 I've seen the addition of the Helldiver get raked over the coals here many times over the years...would still love to have one!
SBD Update, without a doubt.

Helldiver would be fine, but we need some Japanese carrier based attack aircraft more modern than the 1937 D3A1 and 1938 B5N2 that we have now to go with it. SB2C Helldiver, TBD Devastator (American equivalent of the B5N2), B6N2 (Japanese equivalent of the TBM-3) and D4Y would be a nice set. I wouldn't complain if the B6N's successor, the low production (114 built), B7A 'Grace' were added as well.
-
The addition of the SeaHurri put to rest the fear of 4-Hisso blazing hoards off CV. I suppose the low perk on the CHog did too.
I would like to see a Helldiver, Firefly and Japanese carrier aircraft. I suspect the former two mentioned would get more play time.
The -4 version would have a better chance of survival in the MA than the TBM or SBD with such a nice HO factor.
SB2C-4
Armament
Guns: **2 × 20 mm (.79 in) cannon in the wings 2 × 0.30 in (7.62 mm) M1919 Browning machine guns in the rear cockpit

I think the Firefly would get a lot of use, it was a surprisingly maneuverable airplane for its size.
ack-ack

If we're talking MA stuff:
B7A2 'Grace'
Top speed: 352mph
Armament:
Guns:
Two 20mm Type 99 Model 2 cannons in wings
One 7.92mm Type 1 or 13mm Type 2 machine gun in the rear cockpit
Bombs:
800kg of general ordnance or
One 800 kg torpedo
Supposedly it could dogfight effectively with the A6M5.

She was a big airplane.

It was. It looks practically American if not for the Japanese markings.

Did the B7A even see combat? Quick search indicates the only carriers big enough to operate them were Taiho and Shinano, and both were sunk before they could even receive them. They were pretty much relegated to operating out of Yokosuka afterwards.
-
Yes, but not from carriers. It had the gear for carrier operations, but no carriers to launch from, so it was flown from airfields.
It is definitely not a significant participant in WWII, but it did fight and would be used in the MA.
-
Yes with 752nd and Yokosuka Kokutais from land bases. I know I've seen USN gun camera footage of one being shot down by either a Hellcat or Corsair.
-
Not sure if HTC would enable it on CVs or not given that it didn't fly from them due to their loss but was equipped to fly from them.
-
looks sorta like a Corsair lol with the gull wings and stuff

+1 to all

Ok, go for it. Though I think the B6N, D4Y, SB2C and TBD should come first. All four are far more significant, particularly for scenarios. Masses of TBMs are a bit unfair in pre-Guadalcanal setups, and the B6N and D4Y will give the Japanese something far more competitive in the mid to late war setting.

Agreed. The B7A is a historical footnote and pure MA fodder.

I would be fine with just updating the cockpit on the SBD but I said what the hell maybe I'll just throw in the SB2C Helldiver with it
