Interesting.  I liked the video.  The music is just not my style.

Good effort but I am not a fan of drum machines, or loops of any type for that matter...

Congrats on getting over the first hurdle, though...

They don't normally do that.
Most of the band are all in College & are scattered all over & a tad hard to get them all in the same place at the same time.

Ohio for me.
The band are all from Virginia except my daughter Ohio as well. She & few others reside in NYC at present.

Good for her. I would say great job. Its easy to punch holes in her efforts but that was a hell of a good first effort. I am sure we will see more from her but all in all, she was (and her buddies) did a very good job. Keep rockin it girl.

After listening to a fair length of each of their 16 videos posted, you will be hard pressed to convince me that there is a live drummer anywhere in the same zip code as where they are recording.  They cost money, I get it, but don't try to tell me that any of those drum tracks are not contrived by a drum machine or a loop of a drum track that someone recorded at some point in time and was found in a loop library.

Studios these days do not need all the musicians to be in the same place at the same time.  That's what dropbox (etc) is for.  Playing to a click-track does suck, though.

Your right none have a live drummer. :aok
I have seen them live twice though & the drummer was no machine.
All the songs my daughter has been involved with they recorded in her apartment in NYC no studio at all was used most was done with a computer & the new smart telephones they have now. The guitars are all recorded live I know that she has 4 of them that I lent them or have bought for the band to use. Except the one in the video.
She is a new addition to the group after some line up changes. The original line up just got out of a contract with some people that basically was using them as a tax write off, so that is why the big gap in time from the first video to the next. Once they get picked up & get actual studio time I think they will sound a lot different. I think my daughter has about 40 songs written on her own & the other two would between them have well over a hundred.

I have only heard a few songs myself & frankly I don't think they have released their best stuff yet.

The fret noise on the guitar was a dead giveaway.  :aok

The inorganic, implacable cadence of the drums was in stark contrast.

Again, I'm not knocking the music style or quality I just prefer a real, live drummer.

That being said, I feel that the time correction and pitch correction that can be accomplished in the studio is crap, also.

It ruins the organic nature of the music (unless it is intended to be electronic in the first place)

Hmmmm, not my kinda music but I know a little about video. I used to make music segments for my wedding videos I used to shoot and edit. Its well shot, well sung, very well edited, and the final product matches the mood of the music. I like the light use of the "Hair" filter. Thats the little scratches you see a lot on older film. In NLE's its usually part of the "Old Movie" filter. The other effects were well done and not over used. I'd have used a different font in the song verse titling. The music mixing was very good.

A great effort. Tell her congrats.

My daughter was asked to do some vocals on this up & coming white rapper.
