People complain about the ability of a jeep or m3 to be able to repair tanks instantly. Why not take the vehicle repair (still allow ammunition) away from these vehicles and give it to the Sd.Kfz? Since it was actually used as a tractor of artillery during the war this would be closer to a role it fulfilled than anything the M3 or jeep did. However, it would be better if we could get the tank recovery vehicles added that were actually used to recover medium and heavy tanks. Still, I thought this might help get the Sd.Kfz out of its current uncommon status.

Or just give it the "useful options" it did have like the M3

did some order the 75MM PAK 40 :D

but then, what would be the jeep's purpose?
I don't think anyone uses it for troops anymore. do they?

I actually agree, its easy to up a Tiger 2 and have someone on stand by bring you sups in a Jeep. Fact is 99% will sit on concrete, but to actually need to supplies, you shouldn't be able to get them at a snap of a finger. (Jeep).
True any roaming aircraft with a 30 cal can take down a jeep, m3 or Sdkfz, however its far to easy to resupply a vehicle if you have any help - and its almost instant.

finally got my sdk kill today so I'm all for it being rare again :)

HTC could make use of the SdKfz 251 in a number of ways. For purposes in AH, they could use a mortar version (something not currently in AH), the infantry support gun (very similar to the LVT4), the AT version (75mm AT gun with serious AP ability), an AA version with triple 20mm (faster than wirby, %25 less firepower, yes slower than M16 and more firepower than M16), and for EW use the3.7cm or 5cm AT gun would be nice to see as well.
The SdKfz 251 is a very capable gv, but the #1 use for it (carrying troops) is over shadowed by the M3 due to speed.

I support anything that would result in increased use of the 251. I also think that the M20 75mm Recoilless Rifle should be added to the Jeep with a small perk price to reflect its very late war usage.

Everything is the Jeep's purpose.

The M20 75mm recoilless rifle was not mounted on jeeps during WW2.

Irony is when the pot really is calling the kettle black. ;)

While no jeeps during WW2 were equipped with a recoilless rifle, there were some jeeps mounted with bazookas.
This jeep belonged to the 60th IR of the 9th ID as part of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance (I&R) Platoon.

From what I've been able to find, this configuration wasn't intended for engaging tanks since the jeep would have to get within the effective range of the bazooka (150 yards or closer) but more of a shoot and scoot weapon intended to engage positions like machine gun nests and pill boxes.
Or maybe this jeep with a rocket launcher.

Or this one with a 37mm cannon.

That jeep with a 37mm and mg would be a great m3 troop carrier killer.

Would be fun to get a group of them together and play 'Rat Patrol' and raid a V base or an airfield.

I'm surprised you found even one! There is no legitimate reason to use one. They aren't any harder to kill than an M3. In fact, the M3 may have an advantage, though not by much. There is no perk advantage to the Sd.Kfz, it's slower, and the rockets are much more difficult to aim with than the M4. Its machine guns are all but useless. And why would anyone want to be slower than an M3 while carrying troops?
though i would like a pak40 on it still lol :D
I think the 75mm L24 was used more often, but I'm not really up on the German halftracks. It would make more sense anyway since what we have is the 251/1 (I think) and the L24 would be a /9 where the Pak 40 would be a /20-ish version.
