They should either get rid of the big maps or find a method to rotate them out quicker.
Yes I know they are great maps. Nobody likes them more then I, yet, there is just to little action spread over to large an area. To little action + to few players = boredom and players logging off. Nobody ever wins the things so we are stuck in them for far to long. Maps being won by disinterest is not a good game play mechanic.

Agreed, the maps need to be scaled by the current max player count statistics; maybe on a monthly/weekly basis, currently we are playing maps meant for 800 players (non idlers).

it could only be accomplished by going back to 2 arenas, 1 big and 1 small. and that opens a whole slew of other problems.
of course there is the option of more players getting involved in creating maps, there is a good bunch of guys to help figure it out...then again, i'm only on during prime time u.s. and i'm not a "winz de warz" type.

Why that?

Why that?
think map cycling...and the worst possible time for it to occur (just when someone is about to win the war). not that there are enough maps in current rotation to get the results people are wanting, but even a scheduled map rotation would cause as much player angst as a map being too big or too small.

As I read it, he was mainly asking to remove the big maps, not necessarily a scheduled rotation. The latter one was only a secondary option in case some could come up with a working solution.

But if they get rid of the big maps, how will I be able to take bases without opposition? :cry

As a player, you have the ability to affect the map rotation by doing more than simply flying to pad score and furball.
If you don't like the map, win it and move on.
If you aren't willing to do what is necessary to win it, pipe down.

I don't think its that simple icepac; it isn't a matter of morality or ethics here, its about an entertaining experience that is paid for (that's complicated in itself as well).
If people have to give more then they expected to, based on how much they pay, then there are things they just won't do.
Maybe the issue at heart is that we take for granted how cheap the game is for what it offers in general, thus the situation arises where some people are finding themselves at a loss when they look at a map.
