Title: Printable Speed Charts. Advice Needed
Post by: SmokinLoon on June 17, 2013, 11:42:35 AM
I'd like to have a printable database of speed and climb charts available to the players of AH.  Ultimately, I'd like the have 4 charts per page each showing MIL and WEP speeds.  There are some printable charts currently available, but they are a full 1 page and some (many) are outdated and not current.

What is the best way to get this done?  Take a pic of the charts show on the AH website?  Draw up my own?  Thoughts?

Hey Deadstik, what is the best way to make such charts easier to print? I so, can you add these charts to your website?
Thanks!

After having finished the printable version, converting the whole bunch into .pdf, preferably with a hyperlinking contents list, would serve those who have a tablet.

I'd like to have a printable database of speed and climb charts available to the players of AH.

I've produced a spread sheet that allows you to overlay the speed versus altitude curves, and read them to 1mph on the horizontal axis and within 250ft on the vertical axis.

You will need Microsoft excel for the first version, and you can download it here:

The next version has been converted for the free openoffice software:

http://www.leonbadboysmith.com/Files/FighterSpeedOpenOffice.ods

You can overlay up to 8 curves at once. When you click on one of the green cells, a drop down box will appear that will allow you to select an aircraft from a list. You can also select the blank slot at the top of the list. You can also change the graph in any way you want.

Most importantly you can do high quality prints as you wish.

The only catch is I did it 3 years ago, so not all the aircraft are included and some may not be uptodate.

Hope you find it useful.
