Title: Magnetic Compass

 :airplane: Is it by design or is the light off in the Magnetic compasses of most of AH aircraft? Have tried turning "gamma" way up to see if I could see, but to no avail!

we're in the bermuda triangle...all sorts of weird things happen.

You should take a closer look at the tick marks on the gyro compass.  Also pay attention to which way it spins.  And what ever station it is the adf is tuned to seems to be circling.
