There was no Allied defence of the City in 6-13-6. Not a single enemy ship too be found anywhere. We expected a tough mission into a deep set target...and found nothing. The JU88's had multiple free runs on the target and a clean route home.
Wires crossed in Objectives/Orders?
?

oh noes no bostons for you to farm kills off of?

are you really going to troll?

Don't know for sure in that particular case Stampf, but the presentation of the orders confused some as to their correct mission.
C'est la vie.

Playing Monday Morning Quarterback here and to be clear, I am only speculating on this one.
It would appear that there could have been between 6 minimum to 24 maximum defenders over the city strats last night.
They were all in the LA5. Depending on when you got to target, they may have been refueling.
I know our group of LA5s were starting to go deadstick as the Axis attack group was bombs out over A49. Wishing I held their launch for an additional 10 minutes when it started to unfold. I usually plan better than that but had a very busy week and didn't fly any test runs or use the fuel calculator this week.
But I wasn't there so I am not for sure. Assuming they were where they were supposed to be, I'd bet they were refueling...
:headscratch:

I must take this time and apologize to the allies for what seemed to be poor judgement on the orders I gave out, being my first time and all I thought I had eveything covered. I myself was not there because of work, but by seeing the logs and comments, things did not go well. I took the roll as CiC serously and thought I could do a good job, consider it a steep learning curve.
sorry again Allies

Weiser,
Being that I took the reigns for doing the orders for the Axis, I was worried that I had just thrown the orders together and feared the worst before the start of the Frame. I was lucking enough to what seems was good results for the Axis. I have done the orders for past FSO and planned plenty and found that my orders were just horrible. I would not put blame on yourself this is the way it happens. War is A B***H.

Well twinkles we could have all just bailed, but you don't get shiny stars for that in FSO, so what is the point.

Your fall from grace in the last week has been on a Tiger Woods level. Slinging mud at good people isn't going to wipe the egg off your face Fester.

Obviously you do not know Stampf.
he wasn't talking to stampf....from what I could tell
he was talking to the individual who brought something to FSO talk.... which has no business being in FSO talk.

Might as well speak your mind if you are going to be a pariah.
Unlucky JG-11, you guys were on pace for a record month.

Good one, Perdue.

But what about all the stars all that grinding for naught? Seriously how hard is it to ignore people ripping on you over the net or when you go too far offering a sincere apology?

while i like a good fight as much as anyone, ill take a good milk run any day. if they don't want to defend a target, we're happy to blow the crap out of a target, or help someone else blow the crap out if it. for some of us, its about the fight, not the milk run, but if the allies don't want anyone to defend their targets, We're happy to obliterate it for them!! <S>

N I was asking how hard is it to deflate the ego and offer a sincere apology. Yes, I know commas are a good thing.

Well...this is what happened to pretty much all of VF-17's A-20s:
Soon after hard contact:

Big salute to Cobias and his twisting A20. I was in a 109 and Dakone was in a 190, yet it took the two of us multiple passes and teamwork to finally bring him down. Says a lot for a player when we both agreed it had to be Cobias we were up against just based on how slippery the A20 was. :salute

They use Bostons to defend airfields from bomber runs, now? :headscratch:

Hey, maybe the fighters decided to escort the Bostons that hit V109 late in the FSO to make sure they were all safely snug in their beds at 29,000 feet. :D
Actually some of KN did find some fighters by the city....low by their airfield. Think someone said "Free Vodka" over the radio and back to their airfields they went. After chasing the Bostons we found some La's low by 108. There were some good dogfights. :salute

VF-17 was proud to have Cobia flying with us that evening. He's not only a great A-20 stick, but a team player, and a helluva nice guy. :salute Cobia.
