So many players want to have new graphics, but the main argument against these graphics is the people with low end. Some say allow it to be enabled or disabled but that will change gameplay too much if some updates are implemented from low end to high end.
Here is a list of things that i think would be nice to add but wouldn't change gameplay. Also they do not need too much work.
FXAA: Post process AA, less demanding that MSAA
16xAF: Makes images look better from far away and to the side. settings would range from 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x
change AA in game: settings from 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x
raise terrain polygon count: No more hills with sharp edges
waves on water: simulate waves on water.
trains between town and airfield: taking down these trains will prevents all airfield objects from being resupped besides hangers. trains are sent if any object on the field is down. If train taken down or more objects needed to be resuped, every 5 minutes a new train is sent to the airfield. same process for town.
small holes in terrain: Allows for small pot holes placed by map makers to limit GV speed.
I think these would add some immersion and better graphics while not cutting off low end users and not changing gameplay too much.

Perhaps holes made by players rather than terrain makers is a more efficient option. Making terrains isn't all that easy if you're going to get that detailed. Just allow bombs, shells, and bullets to make holes in the terrain. They can time out after a while or let's say when a nearby airfield is captured.

Im pretty sure, practically you wouldnt see anything from any of those, except the terrain polygone count - but that could be a huge leap, along with some texture quality changes. USRanger made some wonderful terrains.

FXAA is very important. AF is also very important. The train would be cool to shoot at. The waves on water would look nice for CV ops. Small holes in terrian nuff said

how exactly is fxaa "very important"? there are too many variations and potential complications to make it valuable as anything but an external anti-aliasing mod.

Because some people can't run full MSAA and FXAA makes those people with lower end systems have a better looking game.
Most modern games have FXAA one of the first being BF3

most times there is no need to run full msaa and there isn't a video card made in the last 5 years that can't run at least 2x msaa. super sample is more of a resource hog, in some cases triple what's needed for msaa. fxaa is an nvidia developed program and video game developers are just now getting to the point of embedding the control into their games so it can be used with nvidia and amd video cards. the selling point is that it takes fewer resources to achieve the edge smoothing than other versions of anti-aliasing.
it's useful, not "very important"...

I think (keyword, think), you can disable the msaa in-game and force the fxaa from the NVidia Control Panel, just like i can do something simmilar with the Ati Catalist Control Center.
Am i wrong?

for amd, it's mlaa and it's not quite as "friendly" as nvidia's fxaa. if htc were to code for embedded fxaa instead of what's being used now (like some retail games), it could potentially elminate some of the issues with using the vision control center for aa control.

Again thats just one case.... i think the others are much more useful
