I think it was the i-16/Brewster update. Not only was there a graphics improvement but also many epic fights between i-16s and Brewsters as everyone was trying them out. I do believe that was when PT boats were added as well.

PT boats were around long before then! :aok

You most probably mean "redone", PT boats had been in game since tour 12 ;)
- The Nitpicker Extraordinaire
Edit: PT boat was updated with version 2.15, September 09. Brewster and I-16 were introduced 2 months earlier.
-
Yeah, probably. I guess I never used one before the update. Still the i-16 and Brewster was fun.

I remember that update had a seperate public Beta Arena before finally went live, featuring the Ndisles terrain. There was quite some I-16/B-239 furballin' on it. :airplane:

v2.00. Added the B-24J, Ki-84-Ia and T-34/76, significantly improved graphics, more detailed flight models and the hit box of the units was now exactly the same size and shape as the 3D model meaning no more fat wings/stabilizes than turned near misses into hits.
I have a certain fondness for v1.08 when the Mossie was added as well.

do you remember tank traps on the beaches.....what happened to them??
-
what happened to them??
They disappeared... just like the sheep :noid

Is this post serious? or meant as a joke? I only ask because I cannot tell, and I don't want to be belittled and rode out on a rail for misunderstanding...

He's correct Ten60, that update did have a beta arena proceeding it.

I remember the beta, that was actually good fun. HTCs team checked in regularly, that's really my brand loyalty started.

I honestly would like Aces to continue with the Beta, that was actually nice to see - rather then just thrown in as an update and let people find the bugs while flying vs having a Beta released so people can experience them and report them.
Also gave us a peak at what is being added for example.
-
The best update was when they went from AcesHigh1 to AcesHigh2 :aok
-
When the p40's were updated :aok
-
When the new trees and stuff were added, tank town was a hoppin place and it was very fun. Lots of hours spent on the island.
-
...when they fixed the Dora radiator!
-
Patch 1.09
added AHVOICE
"Added the following planes: Bf 110C-4, Bf 110G-2,"
Always loved the BF110s
-
probably one of the favorite updates for me was when they re-modeled the horizontal stab damage independantly of each other. That and the hitbox update.
-
The best updates were the ones before I joined in.
I cringe at every major update. It usually means I have to go find some hard to find pieces of junk to be able to keep playing.

I see what you did there
:P

when they added perm squelch, added over 18 arena, did away with small maps, fix all the bugs.......dang has not happened yet :x

why would you want them to get rid of small maps :headscratch:
I cant stand the big maps...especially late at night when the fights are even harder to find.....

Today even peak times the big maps are just one big empty space other than for a couple sectors of horde vs horde action. Big maps were good when we had big numbers to support them and before the arena split.
Off peak (Aus/Euro Evenings) lucky to see more than 60 online, on a big map take away those in GV's and sitting in tower probably less than 20 actually in the air and hours can go by without a single con.

Its Tank Ace. If it isn't German, preferably a GV, it isn't good to him.

No, its just the Russian equivalent of the 109G-10. The Yak-9U will have slightly better engine performance, but the -3 will turn better (and climb better, due to the lighter weight, IIRC).
Yak-9K? Great! LaGG-3? Absolutely. Yak-7? Now we can do proper midwar scenarios. IAR 80? Add it. G.55? Awesome. F4F-3? I don't fly them, but why not; IIRC they were more heavily used than the -4 for early war.
Your assertions that, because I personally would prefer a Panzer III or an ordnance update to the 190, I somehow hate everything else is patently untrue. In fact, I'd say I've been one of the bigger advocates of the IAR. 80 in particular. I also heavily argued for the M4's, and was pleased to see that HTC added the two models I had suggested.
