It sounds like Homer works for the NTSB. They verified it.

Lordy, the pilots could eventually be identified as having been wanking off to internet porn - what Korea will remember about the incident is this news report.
Seriously, how can anyone who lives on the west coast NOT know straight up those aren't Korean names?
As for the summer intern....

"Ho Lee Fuk" my fave of the four. :rofl "We Tu Lo" is pretty dang good to. hahahahaa "Sum Ting Wong" :x http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/202057/news-station-wrongly-names-pilots-in-korean-plane-crash-ho-lee-fuk-sum-ting-wong/
Oakland doesnt exactly strike me as the brightest bulb on the tree to do news in. As you have pretty dim bulbs watching it.

This reflects my overall opinion of media today. Having worked with many reporters sadly they aspire to win awards for breaking the big one, similar to Woodward and Bernstein ala Deepthroat and Watergate as opposed to being noted for objectivity like Cronkite. The profession is dead.

I only found that out later---effing hilarious :rofl :rofl :rofl

Reminds me of the CNN disaster saying they had a "top level source" that said there was a suspect under arrest early in the Boston Marathon bombings.
They were first, but they were completely wrong.

There is one good guy left out there, Scott Pelley. I met him many years ago and he's the real deal, not your typical TV "talent". I believe both Walter and Edward would approve of Scott and the leadership he is showing at CBS.

This is a good one lol. I've seen article titles about wrong names, but had no idea the names were as such. :rofl

The National Transportation Safety Board apologizes for inaccurate and offensive names that were mistakenly confirmed as those of the pilots of Asiana flight 214, which crashed at San Francisco International Airport on July 6.
Earlier today, in response to an inquiry from a media outlet, a summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft.
The NTSB does not release or confirm the names of crewmembers or people involved in transportation accidents to the media. We work hard to ensure that only appropriate factual information regarding an investigation is released and deeply regret today's incident.
Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such a serious error is not repeated.
I suspect there may be an open internship at the NTSB soon...
:rofl

If I had the job and was about to quit, then yea. But the poor kid was in an internship...I have a feeling he won't be getting job any time soon.

I can't believe they didn't catch it from the very beginning.
I mean come on.

It was live, would've been awkward either way. Though I agree, would've been easier if they apologized on the spot.
"Captain sum ting...wait..what?"
