I am trusting Ron Howard to do a good job with this movie. Most Hollywood types have no idea how to make a movie about racing that stays true to the sport and reality.

it will be about the racers, not so much the racing...just like days of thunder.

Cant be worse than Driven

People forget Ron Howard's legit "street cred" concerning car movies.
Let's hope he didn't forget.

I know that Niki Lauda worked closely with Howard, advising throughout the making of the film, and Howard really got into F1 during the making of it. I recall at least 2 races last year where Howard was caught by Martin Brundle on his gridwalk. So that gives me hope that it will be pretty good film, not to mention that I think the storyline is fantastic, you couldn't get more opposed personalities then James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Looks like a really cool film :aok

Martin Brundle on his gridwalk.
Dirty BSkyB Traitorous Scum! :old:

I'll watch it. :aok

Well the crashes in the trailer already seem over the top but I will watch this on cable for sure. The story is intersting but remarkably similar to F1 as it is now. The drivers still make these amazing machines go 'round the track, much to the annoyance of the team principals it seems at times. "Leave me alone I know what I'm doing". I only hope it helps to push some more observance here in the States.

Watch Lauda's crash and take that back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYgjRTWhWi8 or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWksORxA9l0
it's about 1 minute in, and looks much more painful than the movie's

More referring to the endos with saying that they seem over the top, not in any way belittling what can happen to an F1 car. I've watched for countless years, been to the Canadian GP twice, I have great concerns of another "driven" or Days of thunder" deal that cheeses it up. As to the personalities the movie is focused on, they seem spot on and exist today.

Are you referring to Hans Stuck being flicked up into his nose?

Trailer from an early Ron Howard film.
