Please bring the Commander's View, slaved at least to the main gun. Transitioning from Commander's view to Gunners view are not synchronized.
Also, I heard the following observations tonight at TT.
1. Gun range changes when you select between commander view and gunner. Not a problem if you have a control mapped to the range.
2. Gun seems to shoot a tad to the left on small tank.
-
The fact that the commanders position and the guns position are not always synchronized is something that has always been there. You need to wait until the gun swings around to where you are looking before your switch to the gun.
The gun always shooting to the left/right has also always been an issue. I believe this is modeled deliberately though since you aren't looking down the barrel at a target but slightly offset.
The guns changing range sounds like a possible bug and will likely be fixed quickly.

Have you tried one of the new tank destroyers?
It has a top position, like the old GV model that was based on hat looks, not stick or mouse looks.
-
He might mean reticle elevation. The gun on at least the Hetzer and Jagdpz IV remains where you leave it. Dunno about the Jagdpanther. I'm running a fresh install.
-
I have noticed that the commanders position cannot look around in the new tank destroyers. I was under the assumption that HTC had locked that function to only look forward because they don't have a turret to swing around. I do agree that it is a bit odd that we don't have it just to look around though.

There isn't a commander's position on the Jagdpanzers. Commander positions are only available to turreted vehicles. We just put the drivers position up top to so you could have a good viewing position. It works the same on the M3 with the 75mm.

Is there any way to model in the TC's "view" per say? I relied heavily on the HUD for directional heading, speed, and ammo count. I see the gun vs hull indicator in the gun sights, but I'd like to know speeds and compass heading as well. One would think the vehicle commander would have access to that information of some sort. Can that be added through the MG view?
-
Per se
I too was looking for some speed and heading info from what I imagined was available in the real TDs' instruments.
-
Yep, without a drivers position, can there be a compromise? Is it possible to provide the HUD as on all other tanks?
Out of curisoity, how fast are they on the top end?

Jagdpanzer 38 (t) - 26 mph
Jagdpanzer IV/70 - 22 mph
Jagdpanther - 28 mph

Now if only we had back the old transmissions.

oh come on, you haven't figured out the new system yet? it's easy...

And are you being a haxor to get those numbers or am I missing something simple? I didn't see that info available in a HUD, dashboard display, or AH fact sheet somewhere.
-
am I missing something simple?
Yes, you are.
AH Film Viewer. :D

Ah yes. But thanks for the info. I'll add it to the data I'm going to add to my AFV spreadsheet, I'll even give you a nod for researching the info. :D

You might want to consider adding one, since real turretless AFVs had commanders hatches, which functioned similarly to those on turreted AFVs. (Meaning that the TC can stick his head out, look around with binoculars, etc.). WRT to the UI graphical element of the circle with the ammo count, etc. that information should I think be equally available on any GV, via intercom information, etc.

more than 1 hatch to hang out of...

If I am missing something please tell me what it is. All I know is I press the W key and the tank just sits there and after 5 or 10 seconds then it will start to move. I can't creep forward like the old and correct standard transmission. The old transmission took off like a 68 Ford Mustang as soon as you pushed the key pad. If you can tell me something I am not doing I would be most grateful. My playing time has been cut by way more than half since this transmission came along and I now fly more than GV.
-
"Shift W" for full steam ahead, "Shift S" to come to a complete stop. "W" to slowly get up to speed and make adjustments, "S" to slow it down. When you get to a nice rpm range use S to slow it down when going up hill to keep it from shifting to the next gear.

Yep I know all this but the GV still will not respond like the old tansmission we had. The old one took off as soon as you pushed the key pad and you could creep forward with good control. Also the tank didn't stop dead on a hill you were trying to clime. Put the old transmission in the hangar as an option in the GVs and I will shut up about it.

R 105,
I am not sure what is going on for you, but I don't have any delay in acceleration when I press W or S.
