And for the planes...
The Air Force hangar was packed, so there was limited photo angles and some of the planes, i just couldnt get any good shots of. The P-51 was in the Navy hangar as it wouldnt even fit in the Air Force Side. I have pictures of the WWII hangar, but have not gone through them yet.

Cottbus and FF hangar
The photo of the Dragon Rapide was actually shot from outside through the glass looking into the FF hangar as it is closed on weekends. I was impressed how nicely the blue tinting of the windows was able to be removed from the picture. You can see the nose of Jerry's Aerostar to the left and the wingtip of the SNJ-2 to the right.

And now for the German's. I actually am not that big into German planes, but for some reason, I am absolutely obsessed with this hangar and aircraft. If i had the money, I would buy the hangar and aircraft in a heartbeat!

Some updates from my trip that was confirmed by multiple people at the museum.
A total of six aircraft have been sold so far from the collection. Four had been sold prior to my first arrival on the 13th, and two more were sold during my vacation.
The six aircraft that have been sold are:
Priors
B-17G "Chuckie" to Tilamook Air Museum
FW-190 to Tilamook Air Museum
Fi-156 Storch - Unknown, Minnesota
SNJ-2 - Unknown
As of last week
DH-99 Dragon Rapide - Unknown
Hawker Fury - Unknown
They did confirm that the Mossy has not been sold yet, but the asking price is well over 7 million.

I got to see that museum a couple years ago.. LOVE it!!
Did you notice all the pans laid out to catch dripping engine fluids?
That Dragon Rapide is an absolutely gorgeous bird.. There are some close ups in my album..

Yup, that is to catch engine oil as Radials leak oil on a normal basis. We do the same under the engines of our C-123K and C-47.

Beautiful planes, thx for sharing pics! That spit is gorgeous. So is the mossie. My favorite as a kid was the P-40 because of some old books my Dad gave me, and the mossie from the book "night fighter". Nice shiny P-51 too.
-
The biplane you couldn't identify is an Avro 504K. A WW1 and beyond trainer.
-
Great pics, thanks for sharing!
That Mossie was just dangerous looking!
Loved the Jag too!
-
I like that Jaguar XK-120, myself......
-
Great pics, nice to see that they keep the planes so clean and in such great condition.
Looking at the muzzle ends of those 8 guns in the Mossie sure makes me wonder about what it was like being on the receiving end of those when all were firing. I just read a book called "A Thousand May Fall" about a Canadian who flew for bombers for the RAF, and he talked about an incident at night when he mainly flew about a Mosquito tracking down a German night fighter that had followed him home all the way to the UK, and how it tore it to pieces with a quick flick of a burst.
Having all that centralized firepower down the center axis, and actually seeing it in these pics up close and personal.....I've often seen the results of 30 cal MG fire, and that's just from one single weapon on the ground with a much slower rate of fire than the airborne .303 of the WW2 era...much less the Hispano 20mm. Good grief what a stream of destruction they must have spit out, it's no wonder the Mossie was such an effective "everything" aircraft, good at everything it did, be it night fighting, interdiction raids, bombing, decoy high speed raids, you name it.
-
Gorgeous shots. Hard to pick a favorite but the Mossie is just unbelievable. They keep their collection in beautiful shape.
-
And for the planes...
The Air Force hangar was packed, so there was limited photo angles and some of the planes, i just couldnt get any good shots of. The P-51 was in the Navy hangar as it wouldnt even fit in the Air Force Side. I have pictures of the WWII hangar, but have not gone through them yet.
<snip>
I would know nothing of the logistical problems of shoehorning 13 (+1 if we could the C-46) vintage WWII aircraft into two hangars (or at 1am, like this past Sunday). (And we're working REALLY HARD at the museum to get the funds together and break ground on a 3rd hangar by this fall.)
Great shots, I love their Ju-52 and Mossie. And I know what paint scheme I'm going to push for when one of our SNJs comes time for a repaint.

Yup. Depends on when it was made. Saying "Spitfire Mk IX" is only a bit more specific than saying "Bf109G".
