I've just joined the forums and my first question was going to be something like "where's the Beaufighter, Swordfish, Halifax and Italian bombers... and errm horsa/waco option on C47???omgwutlol???"
Beaufighter is a sexy beast.

We gotta keep the faith Lyric. Hopefully someday we'll get that Beau in here :)
Thanks for the heads up on this one.

Will win the lottery first I think. :cry

cool video thanks for posting

Beaufighter came in third in the last poll, beating the Meteor, and the #1 (Me410) and #2 (Yak-3) aircraft on the poll are now both in the game.
Beaufighter will happen. Maybe not next, but sooner rather than later I think.

After the TU-2 I cant think of a more deserving airplane.

Tu-2 is more deserving if you are MA focused. Beaufighter is more deserving if you are history focused.

:lol @ 50:00 the American A20 pilots story.

I'd say the Soviet and British war plane industries are most deserving of new air frames.
And yes I'd be hard put to think of an air frame NOT in the game that had more impact in the war then the Beau.

Only contenders that I can think of would be the Pe-2 and the Wellington. Russian and British again.
-
The SB-2 BEFORE the Pe-2, imo.
Oh, and a major +1 for the Wellington. :D
The Beaufighter would be nice to have, no doubt. But me thinks the Mossi Fb Mk IV "limited" to %100 fuel, small ammo load, 2 bombs in bomb bay OR rockets (not both) would suffice for historical scenarios.

Unfortunately for the Beau the things it did best are not really IN the game.
Thats not to say I mean it wouldnt be an effective air frame in AH, cause it would. But in real life is was a terror to shipping and a very good night fighter, which we dont really have. http://youtu.be/auHYZrNK9wk
My favorite story of the Beau is of the famous 30 squadron RAAF and The Battle of The Bismarck Sea. http://www.battleforaustralia.org.au/2906/Overview/Battle_Bismarck/
Heres some nice shots of it. http://youtu.be/YVLV67xILI4

I guess I must have missed all the base strafing and Ship attacks that go on in AH on a daily basis.
That film was very informative and some great men interviewed on it. If you haven't watched the entire thing do so.
+1 for the Beau!!! :aok
I would think of it as a slightly heavier but more durable mossie. I know I feel a bit naked when doing ground attack in a Mossie your bound to lose something important. If it handles somewhere between a 410 / mossie / A20 it will be nifty.
Not to mention it will give our Aussie blokes something they built and helped defeat Japan with.

Just spent the last couple of hours watching this video. I really am starting to like the WW2 content on uTube, there's always something new I haven't seen yet, like this one on the Beau. What a fantastic video, great interviews, greater gun cam and other film, I can't recommend this one highly enough.
I never realized how quiet the Beaufighter was, nor how devastating it was when attacking in groups and squadrons like in these videos.
