Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the joystick input on ship guns? When I jump in a 5" gun and turn, it is hyper sensitive and a small turns become a full to the stops turn. It quickly becomes a battle of overcorrections to make it stop. I've tried adjusting the joystick settings but it only affects gv's and aircraft, not ship gun turrets.

RPM,
You could use 1 of the modes and setup the scaling to your liking for the guns.
You will need to select the mode when you jump into the guns but that isn't difficult.

I've tried using that but it won't scale the 5" input. Everything but. There has to be another setting somewhere that I'm overlooking. :headscratch:

Did you try to add a bunch of dampening,IIRC someone else has this issue and I think it work if you map say mode 3 and adjust the dampening for that mode it will hold that setting.
Or I could be completely off base here.... :o But I was sure the player solved the issue like that.

That's odd RPM. I have no scaling or damping and I can easily move the 5" guns a little at a time. Zooming in may help since that reduces the movement. Did you try recalibrating?
-
I've recalibrated dozens of times. Heck, I even bought a new joystick and nothing changed. It's only on the 5" mount that I have this problem and as far as I know there's no individual gun mount adjustment. It's all guns or nothing. Yes, zooming in slows the input (sometimes too slow). But in normal view it's way, way, way too much input. I just want to mellow that out to get back to the way the 5" used to behave.
I'm not the only one having this issue. A squadmate and I tried to figure this out one night and neither of us could do it. This all started a few updates ago. :headscratch:

Try your mouse!
With (IIRC) the CTRL-H mode on/off
-
I actually think the mouse may the problem. The game's reading a modest joystick movement as a huge mouse movement. Now if I can just get it to stop doing that...
-
Still having issues with this. Why is it only the 5" that does this? :headscratch:
-
Are you talking about the first time you touch the joystick and the 5" auto rotates rapidly 90 degrees to the side you just began to move the joystick to? That's been going on for awhile now. Once you stop it, or it stops, then you can control it normally with your joystick. Not sure if it's trying to auto rotate towards the nearest logical target.
-
Pretty much. The inputs are way too sensitive and I can't figure out how to scale them back.
-
When Hitech went to the new aiming system with the circle and new land\sea mode keys and aiming system. That auto rotate was introduced. I think it's on Hitech's side of the house to do something to it if it's an oversight. It's like land mode is in effect in the way it attempts to swing to the nearest something to one side or the other.

To use a term from my USCG days, it's like the turret is in non-continuous follow up mode. It's going to continue to turn until enough correction is applied. Problem is you don't have a direction indicator like in a GV turret position to know where to stop the input to get the correct aim.
