Title: Kamikazi damage
Post by: killb8 on August 09, 2013, 12:54:03 AM
"Where his chest a cannon Ahab could have thrust his heart into the beast without hesitation!" Moby Dick by Hermin Melville

Sleeping dogs don't scare me! Easy enough to calculate mass and velocity for the E6B. Not like we'd have to award anything.   :ahand :bolt: :bhead

A great many people don't care about reward.  This would be grossly abused.

Hell -to the- NO.

Too much dweebery as it is. It would ONLY be abused. There is no NORMAL use for this. It is ONLY abuse.

I can see it now.  Horde ups, kamikazes a base down while bombers WF the town, then runs 20 M3's into it. :noid

It isn't hard to Kamikaze things as it is....
Up an A6M5b with full bombs, find a CV, Climb to 5k, dive straight down about half a boat length in front, at 1200ft drop the bombs and crash into the ship......

I believe this sim and warbirds does have a running calculation of kinetic energy of anything that is moving whether shells, rockets, or the airplanes themselves.

In warbirds, you can apply the kinetic energy of the plane to targets.

If it is enough to kill the target, the target is destroyed.

If this were ever implemented, it would be my last day in AH.

No V1, V2, Ohka, or kamikaze. No thanks.

I'm never trying to kamikaze but I often perish dive bombing cvs so maybe I can't criticize but this has always been a terrible idea. It could work in a one life special event that had structure but otherwise it would just be meaningless.

Why not? Create a new ammo package that has no guns or bombs, and reduced speed, and give this to any historical kamikazi planes. You all can argue about the damage delt.

Only when it also automatically terminates the account after impact ;)

No, for one anything of this nature bomb****ing, hotarding, and or suicide bombing is only catagorized under either score whoring and or the fun to other players/ however just because it makes the game fun to the one doing it doesnt mean its very fun to the one dealing with it.

Plus its already gotten to the point for me to where i bareley play, Iv'e just gotten tired of the bombing the ho'ing and whatever negative reactions I have with other people which is not very often, yet I have come to understand this, that I myself stand in a community of gamers and there are other voices to be heard therefore what I want does not come first and that it shouldnt.

But still as others have stated it will be abused no doubt about it for the long run anywyas hitech and the crew would have to so much modding to such a thing we wouldnt have a new plane or tank roll out for a decent time.

Maybe not "well" but it is something I have thought about for a while. We had this argument not long ago over special events arena settings. Even there most of the guys were dead set against it, so I kind of did know what I was inviting here. I should clarify that I was referring strictly to naval targets you know when you dove in and your wing snaps like a twig and you spent time climbing out there and your mad. It might help if you think of it as a confession and not a request or endorsement. Either way it still kinda bugs me that we don't. Going back under my rock now. :bolt: :noid

The only way I can see something like this being implemented where it wouldn't be exploited to complete dweebery would be to attach a very large perk value to it. Perhaps adding the Ohka....jet powered Kamikaze plane.... to be solely used for destroying enemy task forces, but I don't think it ever seen action. And how would.. or could you restrict it for just that purpose? Historical accuracy needs to be adhered to.   Either that or increase the ack in the task force where it'd be damned near impossible to get that close.....and you know what players will say about that.  :lol

I like the idea but just don't think it's practical in the game at this time.

It did, one DD sunk and one DD damaged.  Rocket powered though, not jet.

That said, it is a bad idea to add into the game, in my opinion.

It would pose a ton of questions and headaches that just don't justify having such a thing for sure.

Perks might be a way to anti-dweeb. Also there should be an actual player in the defensive guns, when I wish be had it is when the guns are well manned. To do it to an unoccupied task force would feel kinda like bomb and bail and that is no good, I would not want to advantage the dweebs. I've been known to HO but only when I'm having a bad day. Even then I know I'm doing something bad that I have cheese written all over me. The only time I ever bomb and bail is when no one is looking and never ever with an enemy in pursuit, that just mean.

The only time I would like to see this is during the Okinawa FSO event.  Other than that, no dice.

It is already modeled. Crash anything into a base, CV, or the ground. What happens? You're dead and you haven't done any good!

Wish granted  :D
