Hey everybody here.
First a big thanks and applause for all you guys do. Obviously a ton of your time goes into this and if you're ever in Phoenix and need something let me, I'll get be glad to get you a couple pitchers.
So, I searched about the first 5 pages of threads and could not find exactly what I would like the answers to. Sorry if it's there and I just missed it. If so just point me to a thread.
In a nutshell what are the rules to be followed to get a skin into the MA? For example does the plane need to be of a squadron/gruppe or can it be the scheme that one individual had on their plane. For example if I wanted to do a 190 of Priller, Kittel, Graf etc., could it be their individual plane or is it more like a generic between what the whole JG looked like?
Any other thoughts appreciated.
:salute
p.s. don't know but maybe a thread about the rules should be a sticky?

I think if you can find photographic proof of the skin and it goes on a plane model that is in the game then it can be done.

Short answer really, skin a particular plane but name it as a specific squadron. EX: Bf 109E-4 flown by Josef Priller is simply named "6.Jg 51"

They're looking for combat unit skins. Not training units, not prototypes, not captured planes. Those won't do.
When you find some color profile of a plane you like online, DO NOT rely only on that. Don't use it for color samples either. Use it as the inspiration to learn more about the plane. Most of those color profiles are very subjective, some are just low quality or "wrong" and others are just... well... badly drawn, badly scanned, badly converted, or some combination of the lot that makes them look horrifically different than the real plane did.
Just a word of warning. Research will cure that problem though. Research the plane and the time and the person/unit you're interested in skinning. Pictures are also most helpful (real pictures, not restored modern-era warbirds).
