Sitrep for the week August 8th to 15th
1st Tour of Duty frame is flown. Attended by roughly 100 people, it was extremely successful and bodes well for the future of this series.
New Arena: Combat Theater opens giving players the opportunity to fly in a more "historical" environment.
Pyro gives an interview on dogfighter.com discussing the much anticipated release of 1.08 ("It’s probably our biggest update yet"), including:
Trains
Roads
Graphics work
Terrain cover and objects,
New planes and vehicles (The Messerschmitt Me262 and the The Hawker Hurricane IIC)
Overhaul of the strategic system
Numerous smaller improvements and fixes.
(Convoys also mentioned)
Players give feedback on the Combat Theater - new map and changes incorporated.
Two new planes announced: the F4U-1 and Hurricane IID.
HTC cuts in half its subscription price to 14.95/month. Many many new faces in the arena.
Work on the DirectX8 version continues which, through bump-mapping and high resolution texture overlays, will add graphics enhancements to terrain textures and highten the sense of speed on the deck, as well as expands their capability down the road.

Pyro responds to the massive protests and demonstrations of the CCBAH (Lumberjack brethren to the north) and states his intention to start work on the FB. VI Series 2 Mosquito in Robert Kipps's paint scheme. :)

That's a pretty impressive list, but now that they've dropped the price we're going to have to expect more out of them.
