Title: Weight
Post by: FLOOB on August 30, 2013, 11:19:31 AM
I wish that players be required to disclose their body weight so that the game can save it and adjust the ingame weight of the players aircraft accordingly.

Good idea.  Given the type of small creature I am (see picture) I would benefit from this addition.

At 260lbs, I respectfully disagree.  :D

I am about 200lbs.  If you think a difference of maybe 100lbs is going to be the difference between you winning and losing you're grasping for straws in order to make excuses as to why you lost.

I need a ruling here.  Should I feel bad for finding that as funny as I do?

Also Floob, what Karnak said.

If it were implemented you'd be shocked to find out how many horse jockeys play this game.

I wonder though if there is some scientific research that can be pulled up referencing racial characteristics and the ability to cope with G forces.  Point being if the Japanese pilots could take G forces better than their typical Caucasian adversaries than maybe HTC could accommodate for that and allow the Japanese fighters another 1/2 G before blackout? That is just an example.  Same goes for the Russians and their fondness of vodka, maybe since their blood was typically thinned a bit they would not be able to handle the G's?   :D

Otherwise... this would be far too difficult for HTC to implement.  Also, this hold about as much water as emptying out the rear gun on the 110 "to make it turn better".

If they haven't modeled the well documented advantage of the Bf109 having the pilot's legs more elevated compared to the Spitfire and Hurricane, and they haven't,  I am certain that they will not bother with highly dubious demographic differences.  :p

Doug Badder was said to be able to handle more G than the average pilot simply because he had no legs for the blood to pool in!   Whether this is true or not I cant say for sure but it makes for an interesting story.

:rock Could we also have a "relief" tube, so I don't have to go to my bathroom to pee during bomber missions?

I guess that would make sense.  Not having ankles makes it hard to work rudder pedals very
efficiently though  :D

Brilliant idea, but why not take it further? Make players take an eye test and tie that to icon ranges. Whatever weight they can lift could be linked to stick forces and so on.

Some people here need to develop a sense of humour.......

I hope you took no offence!   Seems Badder had little trouble, watch the Air Aces show on him as the mention it.  Again I have no real proof,it was just a story I had heard.

Of course not. If anything I'm the guy that threw him. My light weight does provide some advantage.

And out of curiosity, why does it seem like I'm usually the target of your poor attempt at humor?

This reminds me when Nascar drivers got all pissed off over Danica patrick because she weighed 100lbs less then everyone else, I cant recall what happened but I think they made her car get 100lb's fatter.

If they start weighing cars with the driver in nascar, expect a bunch of guys named Kip with squeeky voices as drivers.

Driver weight is always accounted for in race cars, and ballast is adjusted to compensate for it

It seems like it because I have replied directly to you maybe 6 times in 3 days this week? Also, I only cracked one joke at you for the past 2-5 weeks so far.

Not to mention the midget in that .gif looks like he's about 94 pounds.

Also how can you guys even stand to watch Nascar? Its just a bunch of monkeys perpetually turning left for hours on end. Any fool can go in a circle really fast like that.
