Hello all, <S> Been a while since I've been on here and long time since I was in the cockpit. Hope everyone is safe and flying high.  :cheers:


I come to you gentlemen asking about the best place to find Royalty Free WW2 Photos. My buddy is designing a board game/card game for the Pacific Theater and is wanting to use real photos if possible as the backdrop for the cards and we are trying to find images, preferably color, that are royalty free that we can use. He wants to get this all together professionally and then put it up on kick starter after we have play tested it and worked out the rules as best as possible. And the last thing he wants is to get into any legal battles over using somebodies photos without permission.

Maybe Library of Congress? Not sure, but most photo's in modern times are copywrite protected.

National Archives, Library of Congress, various DOD websites.

You can find many digitized documents as well. Here's a Navy site as an example...
