We would like to see films (.AHF native Aces High Film format), made with the latest version of Aces High (Version 2.31 Patch 3). We have a couple of things we might use them for. Our Youtube channel, possibly as clips for ads as well.
Nothing is cast in stone yet.
To post them here, expand the "Additional Options" link when you create the post and it will show you the "Attach" option.
Thanks everyone!
-
My files are too large. How do I edit .AHF to make them smaller? :headscratch:
-
The film Editor has start and end points. From there you just copy selected to a new file.
-
Ah! Thanks! Only film I have with the latest verions. My 262 vs about 50 Bishops :D
-
I'm not sure when the latest version rolled in? Uploaded a few made since mid-August.
-
Not sure what your looking for, but here are a couple of mine.

That Huge Mission was quite impressive. I have never seen so many bombers in 1 place like that before. My computer nearly melted just trying to play the film! :O

I cannot view anything at mediafire due to the inherent risk of viruses being attached to any give file, from that service.
We appreciate the support in getting these films to us. I'll be busy sorting through them this week.
-
Skuzzy what is the HTC's youtube channel? I tried finding the right one but don't think I did
-
German planes 110/152/163 defending strats against 5 sets of lancs around 20k alt.
-
This film is the 109E completely out numbered but fighting hard.
-

We are not quite ready to publish it yet.

Three films from me - not sure how good they are, but I got kills so they must be :t
The WW1 arena was great fun the other night.
Good luck with the work Skuzzy et al, and I look forward to seeing the results soon!

The second two films
-
Jug tossing with smoke.
Best viewed with fixed view F5, zoomed in.
-
Mosquito VI wavetop/treetop sortie attack on enemy vehicle base radar and ground vehicles.
Would've strafed ground vehicles but field ack hit my guns. Bombs worked tho...
-
Mosquito VI air base defense against enemy ground vehicles.
-
It's about time HTC decided to make a youtube channel.
-
P47D11 vs Ki84 and then an F6F, both very fun stall fights :)
-
Erg. Whoops.
-
sux I cant get the Huge mission film small enough....Skuzzy any hints on a compression level I am using 7zip...I maxed it out on Ultra compression but still no go....
this really is a great film showing the MMO part of AH....I don't remember off hand how many red guys there are in it but it is the most I have ever seen.

yea awesome film...maybe you could email it direct to hitech?
zip files seem to always get filtered out of email though. I usually rename zip files to email them (change the extension) to something obscure like...xxxxxxx.zix

hmmmm....hopefully Skuzzy will educate us both on what to do :D

If the file is under 15MB, you can email it to me. We accept zip files (prefer them actually) as email attachments.

simple 2 vs 1 with a P51D and two 190D9s
-
F4Us in action .... against P-47 jabos.
-
5mins of FSO G14s on P38s
-
M-18 against Tigers
-
kill from an M-18 at high Speed
-
Massive dogfight of outnumbered Hurries against 109's from the first BOB frame.
Unfortunately this film suffers from the shake that seems to inflict odd films so there is a lot better footage recorded by the other players. But anything seen from anything but my perspective looks fine.
This was epic!
-
2 P47s (plus 1 51) killing a set of Ki67s
2 P47s working together to kill a 51B
P47 strafing run on an 88. Looks pretty with all the ack firing :)

Two sets of bombers downed in four passes. Ouch. :D
-
Incase you are still needing films, here are a few short ones
1st - 109E crossing shot on Spit16
2nd - A great fight between a La7 and a 109K
3rd - 109K on F4U and Niki
-
more footage from frame 2 of the Bofb.
The second file is too large but it does contain lots of action towards the grand finale of the frame. The link is direct from my FTP and contains no adverts.

Great films everyone. Yes, the more the merrier!

So how exactly does one make an AHF film?
-
So how exactly does one make an AHF film?
Skuzzy needs just the files created when you record with your gun cam. Those files are in "C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\films" and have the file-name extension ".ahf".
The upload limit here is 4 MB, I think, so you might have to pick a few minutes and save that out separately with the "Start select" (by typing in a time reference like 0:32:15 for 0 hours, 32 minutes, and 15 seconds into the film), the "End select" (typing in another time code of when to end, such as 0:36:15), and the "Copy select" button (which saves that section of your film under the name you specify).
-
AHF files also ZIP up really well, so the film can be larger. If you have larger than that, email them to me. We have 15MB limit on emails.
-
I have 2 films of me attacking bombers from the BoB scenario.
-
Hit on a CV from a TBM with a torpedo.
-
Resupply of strats and a kill of a P38 with a goon.

The film viewer can also capture segments of a film.
And those segments can still be zipped.

The problem is that when you do that the engine sounds quit playing, and sometimes the views that you used no longer change properly (and a few other things).

P-47M vs 2 P51D, F4U1D, and Seafire. 1 51 and seafire killed, F4U and 2nd 51 finish the P47. Some very fun stall fighting!
-
Mossie in action. That 51 was lucky my aim sucks so bad. :cry
The last 1:30 of the film (5:18 total length) shows how timid people can be, even with every advantage in their favor.
-
A Yak-16 in a 1v3. Never even fired a shot. :)
Disregard the film posted here - it is empty. The film I tried to post here is in the next post below.
-
Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhh!!! I always mess up loading the film somehow. Let's try this again. :bhead

From frame 3 of Battle of Britain Scenario.
bob2013-frame3_20820_fighters -- One of the most-beautiful shots you will ever see of a bomber going down at 1:26 in.
bob2013-frame3_22730_lastBombRun -- Tilt attacking Soulyss, having both wings blown off, then tumbling out of control into Sg's sole remaining bomber, breaking part of left wing off, but Sg gets it back under control. Amazing sequence. Bombs away on a40. Also, near end is me in He 111 gunfight with top RAF ace Thrila.

The more the merrier Brooke. If I can get enough films from various players, in the scenario, I am going to stitch them together for an all encompassing video along with other goodies.

Wow, that's great!
They are probably too long to be worth going through (at about 3 hours each, as they cover each frame entirely), but I'll post links to my full films just in case they are of any use.

Awesome Brooke! Do not worry about the length. I would rather have too much video than not enough to work with.
-
3 films of intense action near the ground at air base and vehicle base.
1st film is mixed air and ground with many battles in range of camera.
Last 2 are mostly ground vehicle with attack from air also.
Many battles to choose from. Enjoy
-
Two films attached for consideration.
1. D11 killing a 262
2. P-47M killing a 190 and a 109K4

Well fought Dolby! Poor gunnery on my part. Had you right in my pipper, but only got a few sprites, expected you to blow up, and was miffed when you didnt.

Battle of Britain 2013 Scenario, frame 4 (full frame):
http://electraforge.com/brooke/misc/aces_high/bob2013-frame4.zip
There was a lot of action in this one -- lots of attacks on my He 111 group. There was one mission to a37 and after landing, an attempt to get to London. My last bomber died about 10 miles from London.
-
I got my work cut out for me. Cool. :)

Here's a shorty. I pulled a great reversal against a FM2 with my A6M3, and popped him on his way by. :ahand
