Title: P-47M skins
Post by: -ammo- on September 02, 2013, 09:39:33 AM
For whatever reason, I can only select one skin for use for the P-47M.  All eight are downloaded, in the skins folder, and I am running the Hi-Res package.  I am also using the 2048 texture setting.

Would appreciate some help resolving this, even if it's my own stupidity :)

Are they red in the list? Did you recently download them? After you download the skins you have to go on-line into the arenas to receive the update file from the game to change the list from red to black and make them usable. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Then you dont have those particular skins, if they are red. you need to check auto download of skins.

Skins in red means there is a mismatch in the "skins.res" file.  You can only get that file from being in an online arena.  If you have the latest "skins.res" file, then it means there is a mismatch between the versions of the skins installed and what should be installed.

So, I just need to delete the applicable *.res files and they should download next time I'm in the MA?

The "skins.res" file will auto-update itself, once in an online arena, if it is out of date.

Skuzzy,

Thanks for the help.

However, something is wrong.  These skins, and only the P-47M skins, are not updating.  When I first installed AH and re-established my account, the skins auto updated over a period if time.  I had the message in the chat bar stating this.  All are complete except these.  Also, I do have "auto update skins" checked.

I tried downloading them individually from the HTC skins site and placing them in the skins folder, but they still show red in the list while in the hanger.

Thanks again for the help.  This AC is special to me as the commander of the only squadron that flew the AC in WWII.

What is the date on the "skins.res" file you have in your skins folder?  It should be 8/1/2013.

My copy is dated 9/3/2013.

Skins are downloading now

Still no luck

All the skins are available in that "skins.res" file, as well as the previous one.  The only way they would stay red, is if the installed skins were not the correct versions and the game could not copy the correct ones over the top of the installed ones.

Remove the questionable skins from your skins folder and allow the game to download and install them.

I assume you have not installed the game into the "Program Files" folder as that could cause the problem as well.

Online and offline can be different as well, if you have any p47m_# folders in your "skins" folder.

Got'em all now.  I removed the skins that were in the folder and today when I logged in they auto downloaded
