That last one is especially nice.  :aok

Try adding an extra space or two between pics before posting, so they don't stick together.

The first one is a Pontiac Chieftan that I saw on my way up to Wisconsin from Oklahoma.

This is a sign that I saw on someone's front yard. It made no sense and had such terrible grammar. I laughed a bit when I first saw it.

Lastly, this is my little cousin Taryn next to the pool, I love her to death and would take a bullet to the face for her. She's 4 years old and soon to be 5, I just wish she doesn't grow up too fast.

Nice photos. I really don't want start anything, but did you happen to release that last photo as a stock image? I know for a fact you can find it on the internet as I have a higher resolution/quality one saved on my computer. I'm sorry to say I forget where I got it from, but I believe it was off MorgueFile.com or deviantART.com under the free/stock photos section. Also, this site has it as a free wallpaper http://www.scenicreflections.com/media/382598/Sunset_and_Woods_Wallpaper/ . Again, I apologize if I'm wrong, but I don't like when someone takes absolute full credit for someone else's work.

www.tineye.com (http://www.tineye.com) is good for that kind of question.

Here is the tineye lookup of that last one: http://www.tineye.com/search/4585fd6727e3c5d58a2ccf0bae69b35e103d4d82/ (http://www.tineye.com/search/4585fd6727e3c5d58a2ccf0bae69b35e103d4d82/).

I do some work on pictures and try to enhance them and try slightly diferent lighting and filters
That one my main focus was to try and make the light brighter while also making it look natural.

Have lots but hard to post from phone. However thisone has always intrigued me because I have no idea how it happened. This is in a bird bath. The water froze and when it did it somehow made this shape. There is nothing in the bowl just a bowl with water. Something caused it to happen but I will never know what. I only know I found it pretty awesome. No angles but it basically looked like a swan.

I don't remember using a filter on that one, but it's been a while. I was in a hurry and mad because I missed the perfect shot by 2 min and didn't have my camera with me. The light was fading fast.

Nice pic with a strong tension! You don't mind if I use it as Desktop for a while, do you?

I noticed there are some anomalies in the upper right corner and one in the lower right, probably dust on the lens or something like that. You might like to edit them, on a big screen like mine (2560x1600, 30") they steal the focus. At least one of them can be seen in the small picture you've posted so it's not something due to stretching the image.

Those are called sensor boogers (formerly film boogers).  Unless you've cleaned you're sensor very recently most every SLR sensor has them, but they usually only show up in sky or water @ infinite focus or OOF.  A quick click or three of the spot heal tool in LR/PS takes care of them.

I suppose if anyone's interested I'll throw out my website, which is 4 years out of date in dire need of a serious overhaul/update.   www.kirksagers.com  I've got thousands of images in my LR catalog I should upload but I don't.   I used to do some part time professional work from the late 90's through mid 00's but not so much in the past 3-4 years.

As a photographer who's had people steal my images before. (Actually, they won a local newspaper pet photo contest with my image I took of their dog)  Can I just say that is a real d-bag thing to do.  If it wasn't yours why did you say.

It may seem like an innocent little lie to you, but stealing and/or taking credit for others professional work DOES impact them financially.

I've seen lots of "professionals" who aren't half as good as you.  :aok

Since the advent of what I call affordable digital, every Joe and Sally Muckenfuch with a Canon Rebel kit and a Facebook page thinks they're a "professional" photographer.  Most of them suck....  It's a big part of why I stopped doing paid work myself, I just got tired of trying to compete with all these wannabes who bought a $600 kit from Best Buy yesterday and start a "pro photographer" facebook page the next.  It's hard to convince people (before the fact) to pay me $1,000+ to shoot a full wedding and reception, or $100-$200 for a nice family portrait session, when everyone has a sister/cousin/brother/aunt/roommate etc.. who claims they can do it for a pittance.  I would always say "So you've seen their portfolio and are confident they will do a good job?"  Which usually gets an awkward silence and a "well... they say they can."   Of course when the customer sees the results (after the fact) they invariably regret it.  I've even had a bride (who almost hired me, then dumped me) call me up in great distress after they saw their photos which were done by a family friend for just a few bucks, to see if I would "Fix them in photoshop."    At least that's the way it's gone in areas I worked...  Other parts of the country are probably better.

Anyway, long rant.  But my point is that just because someone identifies themselves as a "professional" doesn't necessarily mean they know what they are doing.  I know a lot of "hobbyists" who are better photographers then a lot of "professionals".

I can say the same about computer techies. Anyone capable of running AntiMalware will put his number in the small ads of the local paper. If you can afford or otherwise manage combining it with your daily breadbringer, I would encourage you to keep your name on the list with minimal advertising. Just take the jobs people are willing to pay for knowing they'd get it well done. Raise your price level, if you feel like it. Ignore the rest, even the photoshopping queries. The word will spread and in the land of $#0 000 weddings you'd soon flooded with requests. Hopefully... If not, you'd have kept your dignity.  :salute

If you haven't told they were clouds I wouldn't have recocnized them. Then again, I've never seen mammatus clouds, they seem to be rare here. For what I saw on Google picture search, this one looks blurrier than it should, though.

I love it. I've been watching a lot of tutorials on YouTube on how to do things. There's several good, helpful videos on there.

The first one is definitely a spitting image of a typical AH landscape! Now I know why the terrains look that way, and not like what I've seen from a passenger plane window.

I've used Lightroom since version 2.  Using 4 now.  I didn't feel like I got that much going from 3-4, and have been wondering if the upgrade to 5 is worth it.  Honestly even in 4, I never use the "map" "web" or "book"  modules.  So I kinda wonder if 5 will just be even more stuff I never use.

What has 5 got over 4 that I'll actually use?

No idea honestly. This is the first version I've had of it. Never used it before.

Try it here, I month free; I used LR3 never had 4, I didn't have much time for photography ; I downloaded this free trial last weekend and played with it for half hour, the only difference I noticed is GPS tag mapping; cool feature ; but I believe was introduced in lr4,: I will pay for it at the end of free trial.

Rather than start a whole new thread on photography I will just post these two here. I used an 8" Orion telescope, a 2x Barlow adapter, a T-ring Camera mount and a Canon Rebel T2i to take these. I have no idea how much zoom it is but it was the equivalent to having a 2400mm lens on the camera.

This picture was tricky. I had to take a normal exposure to capture the detail of Jupiter. Then I overexposed the next one to capture the moons. I used Adobe Photoshop to combine the two and create this image.

Edit: Wow! Photobucket totally killed the quality of both images....

Needed a new background image for Twitter and and Facebook pages...

Late one recent evening, had an idea. I went out and grabbed a horse blanket and range boots from the back of the Jeep. Collected a few items from the gun rack and hat rack. Added a few more from my range bag. Using the living room sofa, with the LED high hat lighting, I arranged things a bit, and fetching my Canon, shot this. Perfect? Hardly. Spur of the moment. But, it suited the purpose, I reckon....

thanks bud.  been through Bethlehem a bunch, Pennsylvania is amazing to photograph.  The whole fracking thing interests me.  you'll have to show me some of the more unknown spots around Bethlehem.  Johnstown PA has a huge inactive steel mill (Cambria Iron Works) with some amazing buildings.  I believe it's landmarked.
