Somehow I rec'd this unwanted, uncalled blog on my PC. I tried everything to get rid of it ie: Eset, Malware pgm, Windows Defender & various other virus/trojan pgms, all without any success! This blog appears every time I logon. Any advice as to how to get rid of this blight would be appreciated. TY.

That blog has a base64 encoded 'background image' URL which indicate it may in deed be hacked. This is just from a quick look though. As to how it appeared on your computer I can't say much :)

I understand. I was just yanking your chain a bit. Why would I intentionally click on a link to a known malware site? But thanks for the heads up. ;)

I clicked on the link and analysed the page source... ;)
But I wouldn't recommend anyone with windows to do the same though!

When you say it appears on login, you mean your browser automatically opens with the blog or what?
-
Not trying to be simplistic or sarcastic, have you tried changing your home page yet?
-
You didn't tell which browser you're using, but this Laura's blog has been under discussion on Firefox forums for all the summer: http://support.mozilla.org/fi/questions/960050 (http://support.mozilla.org/fi/questions/960050)

have you tried restoring your computer to a time when it didn't exist?

To every1 responding to my query I send my gratitude, tried ALL of ur suggestions, unfortunately this blog kept reappearing in the background & occupying the top 2" of my screen upon login.
Bizman, ty much for the url , tried it, did it wth no positive results!
Finally GOT RID OF THE BLOG by switching from Firefox to Palemoon with all of my info successfully migrated to Palemoon.
Once again thank you folks for ur assistance.

Exactly what did you do? There were many things suggested on the site, starting with updating. My bet would have been resetting Firefox, now that I learned that was your browser. If the problem had continued, taking a close look to add-ons would have been on the list. If that wouldn't have revealed the culprit, typing "about:config" and searching for "Laura" and other keywords would've been next on the list, resetting the values to default for anything found. Wouldn't hurt to do it although you've found a workaround type of a solution. After all, PaleMoon is basically a modified version of Firefox so it might get plagued by similar things.
-
Thx Bizman :) ur advice well appreciated & has been noted for work to be done in the very near future. Prior to change over to Palemoon, I did check all add-ons, the errant site "techblog4u only, Laura & Adblocker for
proper entries.
Likewise accessed Tools>options>content>exceptions ... everything seemed ok.

if he restored his computer to a time when it didn't exist.....wouldn't that mean that he'd now have no computer? :bolt:
