I have this version and while it does work it isn't a 64bit version, this will make for slower than otherwise possible encoding if you have a 64 bit system as I do. I've also found a problem with GPU encoding mode (and I do have a compatible GPU--6950) where it either causes a blank or flashing green screen. A quick search shows it's not just me but a known problem. If I use CPU encoding--it's fine. This is another problem that makes for slower than otherwise possible encoding. Can't beat the price tho and it has tons and tons of features that seem to go on forever.

Still, I figured it out well enough to put this clip of an FSO fight together. Literally my first attempt:

Unless I'm mistaken.... that isn't "Vegas" -- that's Movie Studio (?). Looking at the descriptions neither explicitly lists a version of Sony Vegas in the contents... I wonder if that's why it's so cheap: It's some lesser program, or something.

It is a downsized version of Vegas, but it is worth $100 towards an upgrade to Vegas Pro.

it is a downsized version of the full 600 or whatever program but it is more than enough for amateurs like me.   if you want to do professional editing then the full version is probably needed. but for aces high moves and actually all my home movies the 40 dollar version is more than overkill :).

and once you get used to it, it is as simple to use as windows movie maker.  you just "almost" all you do is click and drag.

One of many reasons they blow. Their prices are not that good.

Vegas is now at Pro 12 and if you can find a way to pay $30 and then upgrade to 12 for $100 then its a steal. But since the full suite goes for around $600 I dont know where your going to find that.

You can purchase the upgrade directly from Sony.
