Who won the last map?
Maybe we can keep this thread going.

Wait a tic, doesn't it tell you who won last map now??? I could've sworn it was something that was implemented... :headscratch:

usually just ask snailman because he is always online...
he will even know what map is up next :lol

Thats easy bish!

So the map changes when the war is won? Couple of noob questions for ya:
1) What are the war-winning criteria?
2) What's the map rotation list?
-
I'm sure someone will come along to better explain it, but basically to win the war, your country has to own a certain percentage of the other two countries' bases and a certain percentage of your own. These bases can be captured with 10 troops after certain circumstances for airfields, vehicle bases, and ports. A lot has changed over the last few years, and I am not really up to date with it. Hopefully someone a little more well-informed (like Lusche), will answer these questions for you.

I can answer #1 but not #2 so I'll let snail answer it.
The war is won when you have 90% of your own fields and 20% of each of the other countries... that's the official criteria. If you want the actual criteria, it's: If we don't like the map, let the bish win. If there is a tank town, let the bish win then complain, if you're about to win, halt all progress and let the bish win.
Bish usually win with their horde, rooks win once in a while and sometimes will win 4 or 5 maps in a row (with their horde). The knits hardly ever win, they just sit in the corner and look at their midget porn... All this comes down to each countries preferred fighting style.
-
In WB's we always switched sides when the map changed, in order to avoid all the partisan unpleasantness. Maybe we'll just go on a biweekly rotation or something. Are there other squads out there who do this sort of thing?

There is a wish on posting map winners.

There are squads that change every time they log on (usually fly for the low #s side), some are on a monthly rotation, some you never know about, and then there's those that are loyal to their chess piece. Since I am squadless, I tend to jump from country to country based on who's online. But, yes, there are people that rotate between countries.

There can only be two answers to this question...
flip a coin.

I gotta give it to the bishops, they have have won every map for the past month ( I think?, I've only been around for a month).
Reason? Bishops have large and active squads, which can start missions with enough people to raid bases.
Yes, their modus operandi is extremely predictable though, P38Ls packet with ords, several C47s, <10k AGL and storm the field.
It is nice though, because we can finally have large battles for fields.
-
The "war" is like a pool tournament that happens to be going on at the local watering hole. Knits wake up after a night of drinking, girls, and a good old bar fight and say "Damn, that was fun". Bish wake up alone with their plastic pool trophy and call their buddies "Golly, that was fun, silly Knits came in last in the tourney". Rooks wake up and take the cash they made from betting on the pool tournament and rolling drunk Knits to the bank with a grin the whole time.
:D

What battles? 4-5 times ive logged in lately its nothing but a horde with no fights unless its 2-3 planes at most.

...Disturbingly accurate analogy.

Does it make a difference who win's it? Unless you need perks badly I suppose. :devil

I wonder what would happen if there was a country rotation when the map was reset, not a roster rotation. When the map ends the game looks at what country you were on when you last logged on and then did a +1 to the country number. Bishop --> Knight --> Rook.
The people you flew with would more or less remain the same the country icon would just rotate through. Everyone who last flew as bishop would log on and be knight, knights would become rooks, etc. etc.
I think it would be an interesting social experiment. :)

its supposed to be the goal in the MA, yet no trace of resets are stored anywhere for the players to consult
