Oh yes the brand new 2014 rice burning POS. It appears to be the heavy duty version as it comes equipped with POS bull guard like the Aussies put on the front of their semi trucks when traveling the outback. Also the 2014 POS appears to have been manufactured in Poland as the steering wheel is on the wrong side. The optional ski racks on top are a nice touch as they can be used as something to hook a log chain to when you get it stuck in a snowdrift. Boy them Polish dudes think of everything don't they? :old:

Cant be, I drove a Vauxhall Viva when I was stationed in the UK back in the 80s. The vehicle in the picture is way too shiney to be a Vauxhall. ;)

No idea, but without wishing to give offence, get that damn bull bar off there.

Their called a Roo bar, and they do help when you hit smaller roos and wallabies on the open road. In the city carparks, they are insurance.
I must ask you Vulcan... why did you pick that? I would rather buy a second hand car then pick up one of those new.

Was looking at second hand, there's not much choice in diesels these days (retired my old Isuzu Bighorn). Saw one in the yard, took it for a spin. It's not toyed up as a lot of new vehicles but covers most stuff. A 2.0 TDi, auto, AWD, reverse sensor, nudge bar, roof rack, leather seats (from the soft skins of dissidents), 3 year 100000 km warranty, roadside assist (AA)... all for $27k (probably would sell in the US for us$15k?)
Underneath is a licensed Toyota 4Runner chassis, top is a licensed Isuzu Axiom body. Engine was developed with Bosch in Aussie. (Petrol version uses a Mitsi engine)
The roof rack is for a Kayak in summer, other times I have a roof box for extra luggage when I take the family away or room when I go hunting (fit more bambies in the back). I don't ski.
Nudge bar is good for nudging stuff, and city car park insurance.
Definitely not Poland uptown - but I hear they are popular in Russia (not made there either). My moneys on them getting rebadged and sold in the US as Chevy/GM/etc whoever licenses and rebadges it (my old Isuzu was badged as a GM in the US).
3500km's later I'm very happy so far.
-
If your happy then all's good.
BTW the reason that Isuzu was branded as Holden and Chevy/GMC was they used to be owned by GM. But back when the NA GM was bleeding money they sold it off. They did not kill it as unlike Olds/Pontiac and Hummer, Isuzu had brand power outside the US.

I recently bought a new Amerikan Kar....and when I mean Amerikan I meant Italian owned built by Mexicans...

I'll take your word for it, but all it looks like to me is a great way to nullify any engineering in the car meant to minimise damage to pedestrian.
Wouldn't have done a damn thing either for myself or for the one roo I nearly hit.

...all for $27k...
Well, I see a few problems...
Getting that 4.5" suspension lift under there will be a pain. Those fenders will rub the 37x12.50's even lifted, so you might want to start looking for a high-set open flare in the aftermarket side and maybe a body lift kit. I can definitely see problems when you go to throw in the ARB lockers front and rear. Those bumpers need chopped to fix your approach angle. And where is the Warn 8274?
On a positive note, you can probably axe that surfboard rack and fab a bolt-on bar for your roof lights.
Other than that, looks good!

GM used to own a 34% share of Isuzu. Now their share is 12%.

Poland uses right hand traffic like you do, why would they especially manufacture left hand models? :lol

No choice? Did you forget all the MB / BMW crossover/SUVs that come in several diesel options? For 27k you could land a relatively low mileage one easily.

Nice car. The kangaroo catcher is cool too.

Ever see a Beamer hauling dead deer in the back? I'd rather have a cheaper Chinese Toyota knock-off than a 2nd hand Benz (except their G series which are not common here, and are way outtta my price range).
In NZ merc's and beamer's are called "Shiney's" as they never get dirty :D - most off road stuff is Toyota/Nissan/Holden (Isuzu)/Ford (Daewoo I think?).
-
This is a REAL American car. Built right here in the good ole USA in Blue Springs, Mississippi by American labor.

I miss the old Isuzu commercials that featured company founder and president: Joe Isuzu.

Ok, what about Jeep then? I used to drive a Commander and with its electroically actuated limited slip differentials it could go quite well in bad terrain.

With no real world experience on it I will venture a guess. Cost. Jeep is too pricey making it lesss common therefore more expensive to repair versus the other mentioned models available much more cheaply around the world. Then add in the Jeep propensity to measure fuel use in feet per gallon rather than miles (they are all pigs) and worldwide fuel cost and it all stacks up against the Jeep brand outside of the US.
just my guess though.

My guess is that the car in the OP is a Holden or Vauxhall.

LOL Holden Captiva's are rebadged Daewoo's... and the Colorado is a rebadged Isuzu Dmax.
