I just bought a Xbox 360 with just a HDMI port now how can i connect it to my computer moniter and have a wire that goes to speakers

You can get a hdmi to dvi cable.

will that split so i plug in to the moniter and have a split coming off going to my speakers

I bought turtle beaches with a optical cable that plugs into my Xbox.  To play Xbox to monitor like i do you need HDMI to dvi cable.

Or you need a powerful enough monitor to contain the hardware to break out out and pass it to another device.

Think a basic consumer television. So either the appropriate cabling with an audio breakout as mentioned above, or a new monitor to handle the audio pass through capability you require.
