I listen to Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, John Edmonds, ACDC, Gun's N Roses, Andrea Boccelli, Foreigner, Motörhead, The Carpenters, ABBA, Eva Cassidy, Garth Brooks, and pretty much every musical genre except rap.
I find almost every person I speak to has a less eclectic musical taste than me and yet I have no idea who you are watching there :old:

You are reaching for something buddy. I can appreciate most music but a ruck of chaps screaming till they vomit? You think this dark, supposedly deep and meaningful claptrap is new. Napalm Death and their ilk have done this twoddle for years.
Do you have black nail varnish and a propensity to advocate suicide? Yup, thought so :bhead

Calling Latrobe and debrody!
Shh. Don't let anyone else know about the tree house.
You think this dark, supposedly deep and meaningful claptrap is new. Napalm Death and their ilk have done this twoddle for years.
Do you have black nail varnish and a propensity to advocate suicide? Yup, thought so :bhead
That right there is the biggest amount of idiocy I have ever seen spewed from someone's mind.
First of all hardly anyone that listens to death metal is a part of that "black nail varnish" and "advocate suicide" stereotype. The only ones that do it are the ones that listen to emo bands like PTV, BFMV and BVB. I obviously have a very large and diverse area of music that I like from Alice in Chains to Lamb of God, Good Charlotte to Job For a Cowboy and even Hollywood Undead to Ingested. I don't think cutting my wrists because I have "issues" is a fun and enjoyable thing to do, and I sure as hell don't think it's
cool. Its stupid.
Secondly I know this stuff has been around for years. The bands are new but the music has not changed.
I cant even comprehend why you would say such a stupid thing.
-
I said such a thing, purely because that was what I was thinking whilst I endured the talentless rubbish you linked. TBH I don't really understand what you are jabbering about and I have never heard of the "bands" that you quoted, although I can make a reasoned inference at their musical genre :aok

So you have more talent than them when it comes to making music? You can pick up a guitar, bass, mic or drumsticks and make a full on album without a problem?
Let me know how that goes.

Uhh...not really. :lol
Now if you said Alice in Chains to Led Zeppelin to Eminem to One Republic, then sure, that'd be pretty dang diverse. :)

I agree, more "range" than "diversity". Though for your example you needed to bookend it with Black Flag and Patsy Cline. :D
-
Just finished Made in Japan again. Deep Purple for the heathens. Just put new deck in the Jeep and drove the speakers so hard with Highway Star I could smell them with the top down.
However I highly recommend to any and all, check out Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy the debut CD of The Refreshments. I always thanked Texas for so much good music and they were just another great example of original sound and songwriting.
But I do like a lot of music for sure. Spent about five years inflicting myself on the Upper Valley as a Saturday morning DJ at the college. Once had the program director call and ask why I was playing Motohead, since it wasn't on their "accepted" list of musicians. I told him I felt if they wanted me to play Metallica I was going to play Motorhead. He left it at that. :D

Heh, my playlist is similar in terms of diversity. I have Sinatra and Eminem separated by two songs. :lol

Well I assume you haven't read my previous comment.
I'll just put a list of all the bands I listen to here.
Alice in Chains
Pearl Jam
Soundgarden
Hollywood Undead
Job For a Cowboy
Otep
Enslaved
Ingested
Led Zepplin
Stone Temple Pilots
Nirvana
Disturbed
Dying Fetus
Whitechapel
Jerry Cantrell's solo albums
Suffokate
AC/DC
Evan Brewer's solo albums
Nick Schendzielos in his solo instrumentals
Deftones
Metallica
Within Temptation
Cephalic Carnage
Lamb of God
A little bit of Snow Patrol
Good Charlotte
Straight Line Stitch
Drowning Pool
Dope
Rise Against
Some Eminem
Blue Oyster Cult
Gwar
Queens Of The Stone Age
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Avenged Sevenfold
Ozzy Osbourne
Black Sabbath
Pantera
All American Rejects
Rucka Rucka Ali Parodies (Hilarious stuff not allowed on the BBS sadly.)
East of The Wall
Device
Flight or Fight
System of A Down
Shai Hulud
Serj Tankian solo albums
Dimmu Borgir
Hatebreed
In This Moment
Foo Fighters
Shinedown
And lastly Gorrilaz
(Forgot a few)
Wu Tang Clan
Manfred Mann's Earth Band
A few Journey songs
That's a pretty diverse list. I have all of the big music genres covered and some of them I hardly like. I don't mind jazz or blues but they aren't really my cup of tea. Note that I don't like country music and think it is the biggest POS genre ever. However without it rock and metal wouldn't even exist, so I do give it some credit.

Let me know how that goes.
Perhaps not, but then I know for a certainty they could not do my job, and if the puerile racket that you chose to use to represent these groups is evidence of the content of their "full album", I'm not so sure my album would be too much worse :old:

I have a bass and a keyboard, but unfortunately I don't really play music. Using the bass to pluck along to a few tunes and I'm dabbling in (at? :headscratch: ) composition with my keyboard (and the corresponding software on my comp).
I will check out those bands :rock

One of my favorite Southern Rock bands, Blackberry Smoke
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tel7yXwtXI8
Saw these guys open up for Blackberry Smoke. Gonna be a pretty good little band, I think, called A Thousand Horses.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrIiS-Well8
Since Zac Brown started bashing Luke Bryan's new song as well as other mainstream country, I've been listening to him a little bit more.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XudS4PhkLEE
I also listen to a lot of the mainstream country, rock, etc... I go through my stages of what I listen to. At any given moment, my library can go from Metallica to Johnny Cash to Slayer to just about anything. I don't listen to rap/hip hop with the exception of just a couple of songs that I find funny.

I grew up with Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Beatles, Stones, Jefferson Airplane, still love and listen to that kind of stuff.
New stuff, loved what Nirvana put out, and don't know why but the stuff that Marilyn Manson puts out I find to be pure genius and entertaining.

Can't be their original video, must been made by someone just putting their song over different footage.
You would never see a "a tribute to German Fighting men in WW2" by them

I can bounce all over the place; from Bill Withers to Hellyeah, to Mofro, to Beethoven, to George Straight, to Motorhead, to Greatful Dead, to Sam Cook and on and on. 90% of the time I am listening to something that can fall under the very general classification of 'rock', but I can probably come up with at least one song from just about any kind of music that I do or would enjoy listening to.
Bland answer I know; but it's true. :aok
