As title says. Had a great sortie tonight, and I saved it. Wanted to watch it, however it didn't save. File size isn't in a format (isn't listed) it's not compatible with anything from AVI to AHFilmViewer. And the file size is 0KB.
Anyone know how this happened?

Oh, and when I try to attach the file in an email it says something is wrong with it.

This could be caused by a number of things. Usually resource related, but it could also be a permissions issue (UAC in Vista/7/8), or anti-xxx software.
Hard to know, but we can start with a DXDIAG output and the game (video, graphic) settings you use.

Settings for Aces High are 512 max texture size, graphic is low as the slider will allow, no shadows or anything else than the bare minimum requirements to play.
Anti-Aliasing is all the way left (on the "none" side).
Video resolution is 1600 x 900

You need to take a look at what you have running in the background on that computer. The swap usage is about 3 times what it should be on a Windows XP computer.
Open up the Windows Task Manager and select the "Processes" tab. Windows should be around 20 processes, or so. The total count is located in the lower left corner. Next to it, is the CPU usage, which should almost always be at zero, if nothing is running on the desktop.
You need to set the games "Maximum Texture Size" to 256, or less. With only 256 MB of video RAM, your card is going to run out of resources rather easily.

For processes, I asked for help in that department and got some results. But it hasn't changed too much, here is the link for that

Thanks for the help Skuzzy will try that.

Have you been able to save other films?

Have you been able to save other films?
Yes all my other films saved fine. But when I tried to save this one (me in 5 in"). It didn't save. The film wasn't long either, only about 30 minutes. I have films from this tour that are over 2 1/2 hours, that saved perfectly. So I don't know what caused it. It let me 'name' it. I even waited about 15 seconds after I named it to log out, so that I knew it would save. However, it obviously didn't, and I don't know why.
If anyone has a clue as to why it didn't save, I would be very appreciative.

Have you made any films since then that saved properly?

Personally I think Skuzzy hit it here...
This could be caused by a number of things. Usually resource related, but it could also be a permissions issue (UAC in Vista/7/8), or anti-xxx software.
Hard to know, but we can start with a DXDIAG output and the game (video, graphic) settings you use.
We already know your having issues due to your computer and this looks like it just might be another part of that.
Also, why would you have a 2 and a half hour film? What could run that long? I know that having LOTS of films in your films folder can cause issues, but having LARGE films? I don't know, but it couldn't hurt to move them out of the films folder.
-
Scenario. I have a few 3 hour films from that.
