On second thought, I need a good O/U. I love my Beretta AL391, though.

I saw a 4 gun Perazzi set at the Skeet World Championships years ago. 258,000. I like my Perazzi MS 80 just fine.

I see the guns in Highland Park are just as affordable as the houses. :lol

I'm happy with a Remington 870, I almost feel like a marxist now.

What's so special about those guns to justify such a price tag? :headscratch:
-
Man, you'd think at a gallery they'd put out their fancy stuff, or was the $98k just for the box of shells? ;)

I met Peter Horn today, Berretta's top man in the US at the Charity shoot. Really great guy, beautiful wife....and they some great shotguns.
He is organising a boar hunt in Hungary in November...buddy of mine is going.

They're perfect in every noticable and measurable way. They're also built to last essentially forever.

For starters, the build quality. These can be used and passed down several generations. That grade of gun is usually built and finished by one person. After the rough machining of the receivers and barrel block, the rest is hand fitted. A lot of the cost is in the wood, usually very high grade Italian Walnut, and a big chunk is engraving.Scroll work, game scenes, etc. At that level you basically have a work of art that you can take into the field and hunt with. The engraver usually signs each receiver. My Perazzi MS80 has gold border work by Angelo Bee and it's one of a kind. He told me that he doesn't duplicate patterns. All this is very labor intensive, which when added to the already high price of a high grade firearm, you wind up with a very high dollar, investment grade gun.
