Grendel making interview of Eino Estama, Blenheim / Ju-88 pilot
(http://www.byterapers.com/~grendel/scan/riekkuma/1.jpg)
Some of the guests of the day. I think the guy on the left is "normal guest", but then the guy in the back is Esko Tervo (gunner/radio operator, Dornier Do 17s), Tapani Elo (gunner/radio operator, sub hunter in SB-2s) and Eino Estama, mentioned above.
And this is something for you guys, really.
Eino Estama taking types of WarBirds online, 109 G-6. While he was a Blenheim/Ju-88 bomber pilot during the war he was also trained to 109s, and has over 200 hours in 109s. He has great diversity of plane types, some other types he had were at least SB-2 (soviet bomber) and I-153 (soviet biplane fighter).

Mason, some of the meetings I sit thru are very long and boring, so first thing I do is find a wall jack for my laptop..then read, post, rinse, repeat. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Grendel.
I have been trying to find out if
it's correct that the me 109s Throttle handle
is moved backward to throttle up.
I remember having read it somwhere, but would
appreciate if it could be confirmed in some
way. If at all possible, please ask your guest Eino Estama.

so how did they respond - did they seem out of place? a lot of times gaming and reality are worlds apart
i will never forget my old flight instructor mike holloman,SUU, fumbling with FS5 years ago and looking like an old man trying to play a video game - he was a loadmaster on a c-130 in 'nam and learned to fly when the cockpit exploded from some ground fire and the pilot and co were killed! real hardcore character and a hell of a role model - etc but it just seemed weird to see him there - he did fine but it was freaky or somethin- what was your impression?

I read in Flight Journal that the 109 was "backwards" of how most opperated, ie pulling it back increased throttle. This is the only place I've heard of it or seen it in print.

Nice post, Grendel.
I hope the gentlemen had a good time.
You might like to ask them to pop by here, if they're connected, they'll find a lot of kindred spirits.

No, you pushed the throttle forwards for more throttle.
Soulyss, Flight Journal is wrong.
Definitely forward>more power, less power>backward.
This is confirmed by Väinö Pokela, who was the primary Me 109 pilot trainer in FAF 43-44. He also specifially mentioned how the Fiat G.50s had reversed throttle to all other planes, more throttle when pilot pulled throttle backwards. This caused into one accident when a Fiat G.50 mechanic moved into Me 109 G-business, and didn't remember that 109s throttle is reversed to Fiat's throttle -> push forwards for more power.
