Title: Text Buffer Cleaner
Post by: Cjpedrido on October 12, 2013, 10:09:54 PM
I would like to see a .cls (clear screen) command that would erase any messages in the text buffer.

What would that achieve?

Having the ability to clear the buffer is of interest to clear abusive language and rants many players type in.  With children watching many times it becomes difficult to regulate what they see.

you can resize the text window to one line and if a "kiddie" comes in just hit the button real quick to send a blank message.

Good Idea, wouldn't be hard to do, and fulfills a need.

I dont see the need. HTC already does a good job with dealing with profane texts and the one line text is so small that you have to be practically playing the game yourself to read it and it typically scrolls by so quickly. you have to be looking for something to actually catch it

I think this is a pretty reasonable wish, I imagine if I had kids I might want the same thing. Nobody would be forcing you to use it if you didn't want to.

the game already bans certain language, it never makes it onto the text buffer

why would someone need to clear it?

further, if someone is bypassing the filters, just .report them

While that is true about the ban, the fact is everyone has a way to get around it, as we all know. He also explained why he wanted the ability to clear it, no big deal, a simple request and a reasonable request, why all the belly aching about it? :neener:

Were HTC to be just a tad bit more proactive, the suspensions would have a greater influence in what those who just don't care would have to say/text, I have seen several that open an acct leave before the end of the month after asking if it even does any good to file complaints!, and I feel that the number of 'LOST' accts from that situation makes it that much more an Irritant for the rest of us that would benefit from having 2-300 more logged on at most of the time, HTC would be better able to address many of the other things we see here.

Could you please provide some stats on how many accounts were lost, due to this?

If you don't mind, I prefer pie charts as I am not very patient when it comes to spreadsheets.

I'm sure Lusche will be able to help if you get stuck.

Thanks, in advance, for your diligence in this matter.
