Title: another whine but....
Post by: mthrockmor on October 13, 2013, 10:58:46 PM
Has it ever been determined what has changed the nature of this? Or, has it always been this dweebish? Everything is a horde, gang, ho and vulch. Mix in the CV still gets parked right off the beach, and of course the magic puffy killing you at BVR with accuracy that would make Aegis blush...

Likely it is just me. Tired of getting more frustrated then relaxed.

Best of luck for a while!

It's the nature of game play. The xbox generation is all WIN WIN WIN!!! while it used to be more about having a good fight/battle/war.

OZ points out "same old, same old", but I think it's getting worst. It's getting harder and harder to find a good fight. You either in a horde, or against one. Fighting under 3k to avoid beached CVs. All the while dodging HO after HO while being picked by jets.

I am surprised by your mention of puffy. I was not aware that it had the ability/range to be accurate in a weightless environment.

On another note... we had a cv cruising across an island in MW about a week back. Didn't even mess up the dirt. :D

Agreed as stated above, but it worst now than ever before. I've been here over 10 years playing this game.

In the old days it was a HO once in every third or forth fight you got into. Now it's every fight, every merge.

Old days you could get a horde on SOME nights but it took a bit to get it rolling, most often it started with a "Join Squad Ops" or JSO, now its on everyday pretty much all day one team or another has one rolling.

In the old days you could find a fight pretty much any time you were on even low population times. Now there are much harder to come by, you either in the horde or fighting one.

Old days you could take a few guys and hit a base to stir up some trouble and get a fight going. Now you do that and as soon as the enemy figures out your not really after the base they leave.

There is less fight and more base grabbin now.

I call bs on this statement.  unless you are the one doing the ho'ing.  I find a lot of people will ho, but not every match and every merge is a ho, not even in 1/3 of all the fights.

as to the op.  it's always been like this and people have been whining since I joined several years back how in the old days "it was different".

I am of the belief that there is a change....from one who enjoys a mutli con on me fight..I have noticed a large increase in front quarter 11-1 shots being taken and the extremes I have to take to get clear of them is rediculous..they really want that shot.....back a few years yes there was the odd occasion maybe a little bit more than the odd to be fair...but now..it is a guaranteed event...unless you know the group, but that is a different story as they are of the same thought process...enjoy the fight not the victory..... now days.. it has been getting progressively worse.
I used to exploit this unwritten rule to help my cause...but it wasn't a one side event.  it was just something that helped offer a fun filled fight...it was essentially a chance to get a breather...you knew there was a couple of others bearing down on you but you knew that you wouldn't have to make an extreme avoidance move to make sure the one coming in on your nose didn't fill it with lead.... it sometimes seems today that this is the only shot you have to worry about hahahah

Ultimately this helped me advance my ACM/SA as I wasn't just a red guy that everyman and his dog wanted on there score sheet for all to see... I don't think I would have advanced very fast if it hadn't been for fighting...what I call, "the old crew"...these are the guys who were around before me....and some newer guys of course... you know the guys I mean...the ones who actually know what a hard days work is...

Hhahaha... this flows and sounds much more concise in my head than what I can get to text but the bold should explain it

99% of merges are people pulling their nose hard over to come strait at you. Now I'd be ok with that if like the "gentlemen's rule" in a duel that you don't fire on a HO merge, but these guys are guns blazing and rudders kicking from 1000 out. Whats a high yo-yo to these guys???? just a bunch of words.

ok first of all, the #1 rule of combat is always face your enemy.  second you mean to tell me that 99% of the players see you coming?  and not only do they see you but they always pull up to you? 99% of the time?  perhaps you should re-think your mergers but most of all rephrase your statement.

we all play the same game and we can all see that a statement like "I get ho'd 99% of the time" is just pure bs.

Well maybe you play the hide and seek game and spend all your time dropping out of the sun or picking an engaged target.  I tend to go right after a target. Very few will come at you off angle. If I didn't work on some separation 99% of merges would be HO/collision. Is that phrased better? NOBODY should be pulling to get pointed at the other guys guns, yet 99% of the people I see seem to run into are trying just that. Again I don't give them my nose so they often DO NOT end up in a HO merge, but that doesn't mean that isn't what I see them going for. Is that phrased better? Is that a bit more descriptive for you? Would you like to "knit pick" my statements a bit more because you have nothing constructive to add, or are you good?

Never mine, don't bother. Your posts are nothing but argumentative and for the most part total worthless.

if i was argumentative I would make a statement something like 100% of all the cons will come to you at an angle and that would be the truth.

but the fact is fugitive when you make blank statements like "99% of the players" will ho, it's dumb.  anybody that can up a plane will see that this isnt the truth.  however if you always aim your plane toward the front of the other guy's plane then you can say that 100% of the players will ho, but on the other hand it can also be said that since you always point your nose to 100% of the players  then you are the one ho'ing everybody.

so since nobody else get's ho'd 99% of the time is it a fact that perhaps you are ho'ing 99% of the time?

The only reason you don't get HOed is that you might be flying against the knits, but flying for the knits, i haven't had a merge lately that I didn't get HOed, not a single one. It's all rooks and bish seem to know, except how to horde.....

gotta agree with that...seems every time i up against bish, they're in yak3s or spixteens and all they know is ho, rinse, repeat.

i did run into some rooks last week that did not ho so i didn't mind getting shot down by them because of it.
