My bet is on a Soviet level bomber.  Given the trend over the past 1 year or so I almost think that HTC is possibly working on the Ki-61 remodel with the addition of the Ki-100 model at the same time.   :aok

Other than that, I could see the Diamler AC Mk I (armored car/scout car).  This would somewhat add something new in the fact that it could run straight in to position for a shot, and then retreat straight out without turning around. The commander could pilot the vehicle with another set of controls.  At 50mph+, it could prove to be a PITA with that ability.  Granted, the 2 Pdr wouldn't do much but annoy a lot of tanks but it could be another bane to the M18, M3, M8, Wirby, etc.  Also, there was a version with the 6 Pdr later in the war.  Heck, offer it with BOTH turrets.  :aok

I could also see the addition of the British Wellington medium bomber, the French D520, the Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM-79  medium bomber, Panzer Mk III (and MANY off shoots!), or even adding in the SdKfz 251-22 (7.5cm AT gun).

Magic 8-ball says couple of GV's and an update to an existing plane.  Probably a couple of the easier tweaks that make sense from the Wishlist forum.

I've noted this before in previous discussions though here is a post.

Bottom line, when consumers (us dweebs on AH) get too many choices we ultimately pull back. Too many planes and tanks may actually hurt AH. I know, very counter-intuitive and you will immediately roll your eyes and laugh. Yet, this very concept is taught in MBA programs from Harvard to Stanford, and every one in between.

Maybe they update a few models, and if they add a new one they should take one or two down. Maybe only two or three P-47s, not all of them; only three Spits, not five or six, etc. etc. As for tanks, likely only a handful of tanks, not the twenty plus we currently have. Too many choices hurts.

Too many choices hurts.

But that's a totally different kind of choices. The consumer does not have to chose which Spitfire or which tank he should buy...  they are all included. The business has already been done at the time, the consumer chose AH with it's huge package of different planes and GV. The 'business choice' in this context would be between AH, WT and other sims. Nobody will stop playing AH 'because there are too damn many planes' in it.

This 'choice problem' would be applicable if HT would offer a plethora of different sims to buy, each with only minor differences. Then you are having problems to decide which one you really want/need.

I personally doubt the GV's as we just got 3 new ones in the last update.
I could even imagine the next update having 'only' one or two planes updated along with other gameplay changes and fixes. Not all updates bring new toys to AH...  :old:

14 years and we still don't have...

Curtiss SB2c Helldiver, Ju-52 or a Pe-2

Those would be a good start.

Those things would be very nice also. I was just observing that since the Ki-61 was one of the last 'old models' it would be shrewd to make a few variants of it and the Ki-100 in one go while remodeling and expand one of the plane-sets quite economically.

I would agree if the Ki61 was the only plane left to update but it is only 1 of a fairly long list still. I'm sure Karnak has the list handy so I wont post them all but I was looking more at new additions to the planeset.

I'm betting on the Ki-61 update, perhaps another model of it, and the Ki-100.

But according to the rumor mill (which has had 3 of the last 4 updates correct, at least in part), the F4F-3 and Valentine tank may be here in the not too distant future.

Snailman, not so. A famous example. Customers go into a grocery store. In one store they are given 6 choices of jams. In another store they are given 20+ choices of jams. Overall, with more choices few are actually purchased. The store with only 6 selections of jams sell more overall. Counterintuitive but many examples of it.

AH should reach out to an MBA school and request that their business become a project. Most, if not all MBA programs will take a few real world businesses, run them through a total evaulation then make recommendations for business plans. I have no doubt it would help the AH model, brand and marketing. They would be surprised at what recommendations are made. And it is free. The MBA programs want to give their students a live project to work on.

The comparison doesn't fit, because we don't buy individual planes (jams). You are not arriving at HTC homepage and start to wonder which plane ("jam") you should choose. If you buy the product, you get them all, no individual purchase decision necessary.

The choice is not 'buy' AH or not to buy it, and in that case any additional feature is a bonus.

Imagine the two grocery stores would take an admission fee like HTC, but then you can take as much jam as you want (which is the way AH is working). You will see that in this case the store with higher number of jams available is suddenly more attractive.

I disagree. Too many choices.

For those of us who are pretty good at this (all relative) the choices mean little. We will do OK in about anything and excell in a few models. For those who are new and get shot down frequently, not knowing which bird to fly changes the dynamic. AH is the grocery store, the jams are the 100+ options and I have long suspected it impacts our numbers to a degree.

With the jams those who had a very specific brand they were after, got it. Those who simply wanted a jam, flavor not known, it impacted them. In any case, AH should approach an MBA program and do the study.

If more noobs means a simpler game, then I think we should simply offer them a starter set rather than making the game worse for us.

I know if they take away much, I'll probably leave.
