Title: possible virus?

links in emails when click produce this error:

 "The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action"

 even when i sent my self a test email with "www.google.com"
 produce the same error.

 when i right click on the link and choose "save target as..."
 the file to be saved looks like:
 google_com.htm

 i have vista home OS

 any help?

  Somehow your computer either does not have a default browser set, or html files are not associated with a web browser. I am not at a location where I can easily check for specific steps to solve this in Vista.  But check your file associations, if you know how.

If you don't have a virus already, clicking links in e-mails is a sure way to get one!

true, but when you have emails from trusted sources and the links dont work...time to investigate.

There used to be some widespread virus which changed or deleted common file associations...
