Title: Sim Pit Pictures with a progress report + Working Saitek Control Panel-AH/IL2
Post by: TWC_Angel on October 19, 2013, 02:19:41 PM
So Ive still got plenty to build. This is roughly less1/4 finished
However That Saitek pro flight switch panel works for any and every game :)
Modified the  switches to send another Pulse to the Desktop Aviators - 2235-sp Board. From there i have assigned the switches for everything  :x

Here is the sneak peak into my madness

For your next build I would recommend a solid instrument wire. The images look like you were using a multithreaded speaker / audio cable which is much harder to manage.

Thank you kindly for the advice, my father commented to me much the same.
I will get a spool of instrument wire! I enjoy being an amateur. :D Though, by the time im done with this project
I expect to have learned much.

The problem with instrument wire is you have to be sure to tie it down well. If there will be a chance for it to be moving around it could snap and you lose that line. Stranded wire works better cause you can lose a strain or two and still have a connection.

Looks good, keep it up. Keep the updates coming too.

I'll say. You have more patience then I do.
When your done there I have a couple of cans of nuts and bolts of varying threads and sizes that need to be separated and organized LOL

Nice job...but agree with Ripley you'd be better off using something other than the speaker wire..which is hard to manage and can be problematic.  Check out your local Radio Shack for some 22-gague hookup wire or (better if you are not in a hurry) an online site like SparkFun or AdaFruit.  Something like this might work for you:

Oh...and welcome to your new obsession!   :D ;)
