I saw this photo on a news website that had a RAF slideshow and thought that the Spitfire enthusiasts would love it.

I stood, approximately where the photographers stood behind a starting Spitfire once. It was an airshow in West Malling. They parked the warbirds right at the fence. When one started you could inhale the exhaust and almost feel the heat of the flame. I think it was the famous MH434. A very evocative moment at what was once a famous RAF base.
