I can't imagine anyone getting so stirred up about Kanye West 40 years down the line.
I think you old people are just more emotionally attached to your musicians.

Probably because they are actual musicians and influenced music and didn't act like a spoiled child.

Exactly! I feel sorry for the youth today all their music was done along time ago and played in samples. Todays musicians only influence people by showing them it's ok to act and behave like brats.
:salute
PS: Lou you're finally walking on the wildside!

The quality outstrips anything kayne or his ilk will ever produce.
Musicians/writers in Lou's day were game changers.

I always enjoyed Lou's music.

Made yesterday suck. Been playing The Velvets and his solo stuff and will all week. He was amazing, but never had a second thought about speaking his mind. Always appreciated that side of him, while most thought he was arrogant.
The other artist in this thread never should have been brought up at all. Please stop urinating on this thread by mentioning him.

R.I.P. Lou, you will be missed. :salute

Because Kanye West isn't as talented as Lou Reed. The only talent Kanye West has is the ability to market himself, not his music. Lou Reed helped pave the way for an entire new generation in music and his influence is found in countless of bands and without him and others like The Stooges, MC5, NY Dolls, helped usher in punk music. In 40 years all we'll remember of Kanye West is that he's a gay fish that knocked up some chick with a fat arse.
ack-ack

Not saying I like Kanye. Personally I hate him and his music, but he is popular.

What 2 consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of my business. Sad news about Lou Reed, too.
